*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Yes, it's the P182SE model, a limited run they did just over a year ago I think. Mine still looks like new, though I'm very scared of scratching it!

I'm just on the lookout for a Zalman ZM-MFC1+ to control some new fans, replacing the tricools and a cheap akasa I have in there now. See my Wanted thread if you have one you don't need anymore!

Choice is between Yate Loons @1350rpm, Sharkoon 1000 golf ball things (look a bit silly imo, but supposedly good performance. Price has doubled in recent months however!), or just going crazy and putting more Noctua fans in there to match my CPU cooler.

I'm going towards the Yates atm since they're cheap and will be silent with the controller. Toying with getting a slim one for the lower bay too to aid the cable management on my PSU. Also going to braid some cables in black and do a complete rebuild with the new spec I have (see sig).

Really need to ditch my CPU too, just to find somewhere where I can get about £55-£60 for it and put a new duo or quad in. E8400 (second hand) seems like good value for money, but don't want to regret not getting a quad, only one I could afford would be the q6600 though (second hand). Not sure what's needed for a gaming PC now, games are becoming more multithreaded.

I had a good go at cable management ment and i was good but not perfect so i taken out my power supply and done it again will up load with pics

just got a p183 (might as well stick the question here as they are virtually identicle) - what quiet case fans are recommended to replace the antecs? And if Noctua (as I guess) which speeb - they seem to do several speed case fans. tia.

If you can afford Noctuas then they're very good. The case fan you'd want is the S12 I think. I still haven't replaced mine and rebuilt the system because I don't have the cash atm, but i'm looking at a low cost alternative, Yate Loons. I have a fan controller to control them and vary the speed when needed.

Nothin' special but I spent days reading through this thread and had to add my contribution, there's some impressive builds in here. The Rig is three years old and still running smooth, it's my first build.

My hat goes off to yipyipboo, that has to be the tidiest build I've seen to date... are those pics of your full build?

Spot any mistakes or have any suggestions?

The p182 lets you hide the mess. I cheated and used electrical tape but amazingly the back cover goes on with barley any force.

Thanks a lot.

I never realised you created this thread initially. Nice one!

Do you still have your Antec P182 case for your main rig? If not, why the move.
