OK, so as one of the early-adopters :eek:of this board, and assuming there will be other like minded souls out there.....here is the Official Thread :D

So far not much to put here......but no doubt there will be

As for me, well my Maximus is all installed but I am having GFX problems carried over from my P5WDH.....so hardly getting use out of the Maximus yet...watch this space !

It is always good practice to do a clean install....but.....I mapped my Vista across

Thing to do is to remove any and all current motherboard drivers as thoroughly as possible before installing the new board, the most crucial being drivers involving IDE/SATA - essentially those affecting you HDDs and optical drives as these are where the new drivers for the new board will come from ;)

Yeah, and a maddening one !

Thing is my PC started doing this before the Maximus went in.......seems to have better chance of POSTing with 6200 TC card in (fails always with my GTX)......swapped mobos (figured that the P5WDH was at fault....no change.....all that is left is RAM, CPU and PSU.....now have some different RAM and a cheapo PSU...no spare CPU.....

Thing is, this started occasionally happening before motherboard swap and now appears worse ! Must - therefore - be something else, rest of the PC stayed as is.....

Sounds like psu could be a favourite aswell as obvious extra power draw from the gtx , whats your 12v read when you get into windows?

Not sure - haven't got it to POST for a while :(

Plan to try the system on a weedy 400w generic PSU I have sitting around and swap out the RAM....then it is just the CPU (which I can't see as the problem, but who knows !)

Did this once on the P5W....no errors.....would love to POST again to get the chance ! Will be ripping the innards out of the case tonight and going through systematic testing

Really want to play with my new Maximus board ! Started this thread and am now quite envious of all you guys OC'ing away ;)

Well still no joy :(

Tried new RAM (Patriot instead of Geil), different PSU and no luck. Now, the 6200 card connected via VGA lead works every time, but not DVI connection; the 6600GT does not on either output (VGA or DVI). Very frustrating and the only thing left not 'checked' is the CPU itself !

(To be sure, I tried BIOS 504 and 505 but no joy)

Wahaaay ! I am finally up and running.....received a replacement BFG 8800GTX OC and all is well !

So, first things first, I upped FSB to 333 and nothing else changed - booted fine :)
Next, went for FSB 356 and again booted fine (these were tried and tested on my P5WDH)......then went for 8x multiplier and 400 FSB and.....worked fine :D - never got such a high FSB on my P5WDH !

And that is where I am so far.....happily on 3.2GHz and nothing else changed ! Easy ! Will go for more tomorrow etc., but - for now- just happy with a working PC :D

I've found my new Patriot Extreme RAM works a treat......detects at 800MHz and all is well on 400*8 with no voltage changes (yet :D)

Plan to check what FSB I can get first, followed by what the RAM will do.....kinda prefer not to have to throw volts in yet, as 'ambient' temps are reasonably high with the GTX OC in and the quad under a Ninja+ ......
