** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

I really would have preffered the Egg cooled one :(

They are more efficient at lower fan speeds and much more silent, wouldnt have needed aftermarket coolers that way.

Just installed 3dmark 06 to go and run it and get greeted by an error saying it can't run because openal isn't installed. wooooo. lol.

What do people use these days for stress testing GPUs? I've been out of the loop with graphics overclocking since I had my 8800GTX over a year ago but fancy getting back into it with a card that seems to be a nice clocker :)

Furmark + Heaven benchmark are great for stressing them.

For example, my cards were furmark stable at 1025 mhz, but not stable in Heaven so I figured 1000 Mhz is the sweetspot for my cards.

Just managed to get 3dmark06 to run.... I scored lower than I did back in October 2007 with a single 8800GTX. Granted I'm not overclocked to the limit like I was then.

Is 14452 a fair score? 3GHz q6600, 4gig ram, 5770 running all stock with no tweaks, programs open in the background etc.
The card only hit 58 degrees at max, which I'm very happy with considering my case is hardly the best thing for airflow :)

I only get 14,000 ish with two in Xfire..

Ahh hold thats 06 i,m on about vantage.....My bad.

I'm running my Asus Voltage tweak 5770 at 1ghz with 1400 on the mem and its 1 hour furmark stable!!

I bought it cos my 4870x2 has bust and His are taking a while with the RMA, but I'm surprised at how well it runs games (bar Crysis.) to the point I would recommend it to anybody.

Anybody got any idea what I will get from His to replace my busted 4870x2?

06 is CPU limited, your score will scale as you overclock, it will not be GPU limited in the slightest.

I have the OEM ones and they are silent even under load..?

They are silent at stock clocks yes, but not at 1000 Mhz :p

Personally I'd go for the XFX Cavallino, it has 3 years warranty? rather than the two year warranty on the Powercolor.

It also looks better :p

If anyone here gets the XFX one and you dont want the battleforge code, could I have it to get myself a Fallen Skyelf card in the game lol.

I really want a fallen skyelf in Battleforge :(. It comes with the ATI promotion only.

The Fallen Skyelf Premium card can be acquired with the purchase of select video cards.

Mine @ the max CCP will allow 960 i think, they are still silent.. They only get noisy if i manually turn the fan up...

Yea, they are silent at the stock fan settings, but then the GPU heats up well over 100 degrees at 1000 Mhz. I needed them at 75% at least to keep the temperature below 90 degrees.

I prefer fansinks over exhausts always.

I have a corsair vx550w PSU and don't know if it will be enough to run 2 cards ?
Buying a new PSU will not be for this month :(
What could happen if I tried the 2 cards and my PSU can't handle them ?

If any ones haveing any doubt at all heres today attempt with a few mods running at 55% fan max temp 79c
