Official Australian Grand Prix 2025 Thread - Albert Park Circuit, Melbourne - Race 1/24

With Lewis's move to Ferrari, this is the first time I have found myself interested in F1 again since the end of 2021.

I won't be getting up to watch it live, but will definitely be following things more closely this season.

Super looking forwards to this. I feel less sure how things are going to shake out than I have done in a long time.

Early predictions: Norris takes pole but fluffs it up somehow in the race. Verstappen gets a penalty for dodgy driving after a low Q3 quali. Antonelli bins in. Bearman outqualifies and outscores Nico. Podium: Leclerc, Piastri, Hamilton.

Excited to finally have F1 back, looking forward to an early start, I enjoy them personally but I'm old. :p

If it was purely down to talent I’d bet on Max to win again but if McLaren have best car from the get go (which seems more likely than not) then it’s very hard to look past Lando given his clear pace advantage over Piastri.

4am start. I need to remember this on Saturday night.

Last year brought F1 back to me. The ridiculous media circus didn't help but when focussing on the racing and results it was a decent season with some genuine exiting results. I'm hoping for more this year before things reset somewhat in next year.

I think it might be a case of who bottles it first this year. The development war will be less relevant and it looks like we've got an opportunity for multiple race winners again. It feels daft to celebrate having multiple race winners but that's what the sport had become. I'm looking forward to see who gets their flag in the ground first this weekend and if they can carry that on for a full season.
