***Official Batman Arkham Origins Thread***

I am loving it tbh. Still playing it for all the pickups, much better then AC was, I agree with the grapple points though sometimes it is just really stupid you can't grapple to certain places that i am sure the other games had less limitations.
Must be playing a different game mate this is shockingly poor even all the DLC is terribly bland cut n pasted out of the rocksteady games gameplay wise with way inferior gfx

You will see sooner or later it makes AC look like AA ;)

:) Just on the DLC now actually. I don't know why then but I really enjoy playing it. I figured most of the hate was the Joker not being Mark H cause that can happen sometimes with fanboys. AA is still the best Batman game for me though, I hope Rocksteady end there trilogy with a bang in a good way with Arkham Knight as they need to up there game a bit from AC imo.

It is without doubt far technically inferior to City. It is still a good game, but not up to the standard set by the previous two games. I like that it is a bit of more cinematic. I like the idea of the batcave, but it is totally pointless. I actually prefer the combat, but again it isn't technically as good, with more fumbles and glitches.

I didn't know about any voice changes tbh

Well, Joker has only just turned up for me, and I didn't really notice tbh. I do remember hearing about Mark Hamill no longer doing it actually. Again, didn't really notice a change in Batman either tbh, but then it isn't something I have really taken an interest in in the past.

Also, I like the new detective skills, but again it is badly implemented. I can only use it when the game tells me to, and everything is highlighted and in order, so it is just boring gameplay.

If you've played city and Asylum all the way through it's worth doing this just for completist reasons. Take it off after though, because eventually a bug will catch up with you that is more often than not game breaking.

The whole hotel bit culminating in the Joker scenes is absolutely brilliant!

I really hope they go along this route in Arkham Knight, with a much more cinematic feel because it really works. They thing about these games that sets them apart for me is their absolutely top notch presentation. There are technical problems, but overall general quality feel of the games can't be matched.

Edit- Also, this take on Bane is much better.

After playing Asylum & City I was looking forward to Origins, but it really is the weakest of the 3 for me.

Buggy and still needs patching, but I doubt we'll see anything now.

Game started 1st time, but then I had constant crashes at the first cinematic, had a couple of game stoppers when doors have been locked (after Deathstroke fight - which incidentally was the most irritating boss fight I've ever had) and had to reload from a previous position to unlock the door.

It's slowly improving and fingers crossed I'll not hit any further show stoppers.

I read a review where they said it seemed like the devs had not played the previous games, and I have to say that seems about right. There are a few inconsistencies in story and general feel of the game. Though tbh, some of it is for the better really, as I do prefer the slightly darker vibe.

You could almost play this as the first of the trilogy, as it is technically inferior to the others, but it might confuse the overall story a little.

I enjoyed the gameplay but the story was the weakest part, Batman origins with very little backstory and real scope when first meeting the characters for the first time ever. Wasted chance but gameplay was alright.
