what heatseaker?

there's no heatseaker in the game.

if you mean the at4, it's guided (ie it'll fly where you move the crosshair) but it won't lock on to tracer darts like the other two to balance that out.

Heat guided missle, so i assumed it was a heatseaker.

So, i fire it, and guide it towards the heli or tank?

what heat guided missile?

AT4 or stationary?

Either way they both work the same but stationary is slower but more powerful.

You have to keep the crosshair on what you want to hit, easy for tanks but with helis you have to aim a lot in front/the side etc then bring it over them as it gets close.

while you've got it over them to they'll get the tracer dart style lock on tone so somoen with an at4 can get a pilot to waste his smoke when he isn't tracerd so another engi can trace an shoot down quickly if at4 misses.

Are you sure it's not HEAT Guided Missile as in High explosive anti tank, guided missile?

Yeah, the AT4, the stats site just says;

'Disposable 84mm HEAT missile modified with a "guidance tracking" system for target acquisition and neutralization. Not compatible with "tracer darts".'

I just assumed it was a heatseaker...

with the at4 if you fire it and don't keep the scope up (just swap weapon or descope to reload right away etc) it will veer down and to the right and usually into the ground in 10 feet.

The missile tracer lock, proximity warning and guidance tones are all slightly different mate.

No need to waste countermeasures.

Had a 6 or 7 Multikill by placing 2 AT mines directly in front of a tank spawn yesterday. Something like 800 points for that little lot. Enemies must have been clustered around the tank for protection or something.

Also had 5 or maybe 6 multikill for a C4'ed tank that drove in right next to an objective.

I must say these multiple kills are rather nice to get occasionally.

I wish I'd started using Mines and C4 earlier in the game.

Mines are always fun when the tank in question goes the other way and avoids them. Then retreats away from damage and drives over them :p

Sure i've got Tefal with that a few times.

ahh ok, It's just i noticed that nearly every pilot i use the at4 on pops smoke after a few seconds of tone :p

Am I right in thinking you can blow up a tank with a single AT4 shot, if you hit the underside of the tank?

I think I hit a full strength tank underneath when it was going over a hill and it oneshotkilled it.

Of course you've been flying way too much. I didn't even realise it played the 'Missile Locked' tone and flashed the screen red if an AT4 is coming straight for you. I thought it only played them for tracer locks and proximity warnings.

Not that it matters. Most AT4 kills on a chopper you'd fire it in front of it and turn it into the chopper not point directly at it.

yeah but if you point right at it you can freak out a lot of pilots if you keep it on long enough after flares a few will bail/crash trying to get away but at the very least they stop coming in for a strafing run so it buys other people time to shoot it down.
