The M1 garand is another personal favourite old school weapon of mine. Very satisfying getting kills with it, though your outgunned against someone armed with anything, other than a bolt action sniper rifle. Great fun trying to take people out at long range with the iron sights.

I find it incredibly hard to use myself, at any range. Small magazine count (8?) and plus high recoil make it nearly impossible to use. The M1A1 isn't that horrid if you hipfire, but then again neither is the M1. I'm aiming for 500+ kills with the Thompson then I'll probably try something else, might be the M1 I don't know.
 
The M14 has some pretty high recoil, its another weapon ive been using lately. But it does put people down very quickly, tried the thompson but couldnt get onto it at all. Mainly playing as engineer theese days with the UMP, awesome weapon.

Yeah, the UMP is one of my favorite guns.

Haha, knife bugs are great if they work out for you. Before I was on Oasis and some dude was camping behind this wall in a house. Twice I got mowed down by him but luckily I had mates using defibs. I eventually lost my temper and on accident pressed the middle mouse button, in turn I managed to knife him through a wall.

304 kills with the M1A1 in just 3hours of play.

Yet another bug, its strange how i stabbed the engineer twice yet the first hit registered as hitting the medic (who i was aiming for).

Hope the knifing system in bf3 is more refined. :eek:

You grab them in BF:3 and you get a little cutscene, so it should be better, unless you grab the wrong person who is a few feet away from you.

I'd be more interested whether you can stop them knifing your teammate during the little cutscene.

Me and some mates got a server running. Link is in sig if you fancy a look. Runs in normal mode, mixed (3CQ to 1Rush), all maps. There is a reserved list is anyone finds they really like it, just let me know. :)

Oh, and it'll go to BF3 when the time comes. :D

I was actually aiming at the medic, the engineer appeared as i had started to click the button, the game swung me around to stab the engie and the medic died. Then in the second stab the engie finally died.
