*****Official BBQ Thread - Suns out, Buns out!*****

Anyone else get the annoyance factor (I know third world problems) You go to the decent butcher, and spend anything from 4 to 12 hrs lovingly and caringly smoking away your choice of cut only to get the complete blank of how nice is it is and you are the only one tasting every delecious bite as if your last meal :) and nothing is ever left over.

You need to cook for more appreciative people. I offer my services, competitive rates.

Bad time of year for deals. The best time.is end of the season going into Autumn when they need to shift stock.

Yeah this...I picked up my Weber 57 in the off-season and was way cheaper than what is being sold currently.

I am on the hunt for another as getting annoyed at trying to cook meat that needs longer stints and some of the family wanting the basics of burgers, sausages or some charred vegetables. Another kettle to manage the direct stuff and my main one for the indirect cooking I prefer.

I wish I could wait until then for a deal but my barbecue has huge holes in the bottom now and won't hold the coals :(

If the Amazon BBQ is no good I'll go for the barrel style one from Homebase to keep me going until deals on better units are available.

Grab this as an interim? Might grab it for the family who have no interest in the longer cooks or want the basics and handy for when more people over.

Aye that looks like it'll do the job for a few months cheers!

Edit: if it was in stock! :p I'll keep an eye out for similar offers.

Apologies on that one! When I last checked it was in stock! Seems the heatwave has got to us all and buying up things left right and centre! Ordered garden furniture and not coming until next month either.

Does the 47 Weber kettle have any downsides? I have the 57 but a chap is selling a used 47 for cheap and thought to use it for any overflow cooks or to do a spatchcock chicken separately or loads of wings.

Bit too much heresy going on in this thread.

Anyone got any tasty recipes for me to try this weekend?

If you compare it to the same 57 (i.e. not the premium one) then none aside from being smaller.

I'm about to pull the trigger on this: CosmoGrill Outdoor XL Smoker Barbecue https://amzn.eu/d/fDnULaV
I did pull the trigger in the end. It arrived today and with how nice the weather was I couldn't resist assembling it in time for tea.

I cooked some burgers and chicken kebabs on it. Huge improvement over that daft fire pit BBQ we have put up with for years. Very happy with it.

Edit: over 2 hours later and it's still really hot. I left everything open in hope it would burn out but this thing is clearly better at holding the heat than my old thing. Why did we wait this long?!
