*****Official BBQ Thread - Suns out, Buns out!*****

Oh man, I've been wanting to try those Galician cuts from T&G for ages. I think your photo has convinced me to order some :)

I'm testing the FireBoard out today with the Drive cable and BBQ Guru Pit Viper fan - https://share.fireboard.io/F64D45

Do it.. You won't be disappointed!

Now you've got me watching your graph wishing I was at home cooking meat. How much was the whole set up? I've been looking at getting something like that for the summer.

Yeah it connects to the Pit Viper fan via the FireBoard Drive cable. I'm running everything off of the FireBoard's internal battery today just to see how long it'll last, but in future I'll have to use the AC adapter or a USB battery pack for longer cooks.

Excellent, sounds great.

my next question, can you tinker with temps etc via wifi etc so you can change temps while away from the bbq?

A lot :(

BBQ Guru Pit Viper fan (10CFM) and Weber adapter: £50.76
FireBoard Thermometer Extreme, case, Drive cable and probe organisers (4 pack): £312.38

Total: £363.14

Bear in mind though that I had someone from the US bring everything over for me so I avoided the customs charges, VAT, international shipping etc. You can order all of the FireBoard stuff from bbqeurope.com but it works out more expensive than what I paid.

Yeah you can from the iOS and Android apps. It looks like you can change the temps from the fireboard.io site too but I haven't tried yet.

Ouch, that is pricey sadly, I shall have to stick to my qmaster lite and my morpilot 6 channel temp probe, I can't change temps away from the bbq but it's rather cheaper...(htough still not cheap...)

I've just seen there is a Sear and Smoke BBQ event on in Liverpool in a couple weeks, looks like it could be worth going to!

That's probably about what I was thinking so not too bad, a little bit more expensive than the CyberQ but it does look like a nice piece of kit.

Unfortunately the CyberQ is probably the worst one of the bunch right now. They don't seem to do much development for it, and it's almost impossible to buy it in Europe since https://store.bbqguru.eu/ was shut down.

I was very tempted by the Smobot but they don't have an ETA for the Weber Summit Charcoal yet and I couldn't wait any longer.

We're stalling a bit! What is your target temp?

Haha! I've watched a few other people's charts before so I know the feeling :P

This was a very last minute decision today so I'm going to try to go to ~203F as if it were a pork shoulder. I'm debating whether to wrap it in butcher's paper or not.

I really wanted to make this recipe again but we don't have any red wine in the house :(
