WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

I'll come back later and add to this thread with info / pics / press releases etc. but for now that image has made my year and I'm sure there are many people on here very happy to see it included in F1 2011!

Ace :D

It's really shaping up to be an excellent continuation from last year.

Edit - less ace...

There is no option to drive the safety car and the camera angle does not change when it is deployed.

He added players will “have control behind the safety car but there’ll be some restrictions.”

Presume that means it's somewhat scripted, the camera will go to some sort of external view, where you might have simple aims like as to not overtake other cars, keep tyres/brakes warm etc.

Funny how the one thing that ruins real life F1 races is being celebrated for being included in the game :D

- still, yes its very cool ... IF its implemented properly..

Loved the last game, can't see any reason for the inclusion of the safety car though. Imagine it will just play like the pitlane limiter. Pretty pointless stuff really for an arcade type racing game lover :)

I'd just love it if they could get it out ready for the season start, with minor updates to tweak car performance as the teams improve.. This coming out with only a handful of races left in the season kind of ruins it a bit for me, as I like to do a quick race, bit of qually on each real race weekend

Never going to happen. Teams would have to disclose technical information and designs of their new cars way in advance, too much of a risk to allow a relatively small company (compared to the F1 operation) to have that knowledge, and totally impractical.

To confirm, the player retains control of the car but with some restrictions. The camera doesn't just switch to a cinematic external view.

Hope it fixes lot's of the annoying bugs that are on 2010, like AI cars that DO NOT PIT!!!!!!!!! ARGH!! :D

There's a new dev video on the site so you need to edit your OP and put a couple of vids in there.

I thought that got patched quite early on?

Not for me I bought it at launch finished 6 seasons and all the offline achieves and it still hadn't been patched. I gave up waiting and sold it hoping this years would have the finishing touches last years needed. :)

I really enjoyed last years, the Ai behaviour at times though was woeful. As was the qualifying difficulty curve and Ai race pace at Barca and Monaco :D

Let's hope they can fix the 40+ other bugs, but put it this way after the disaster that was 2010 I won't be buying 2011 until it comes onto the second-hand market for cheap.

Could have sworn they sorted that one out, from memory it was one of the biggest faults reported from the off and they were pretty good as listening to the community.

yes they did patch it to fix the AI not pitting for races 20% or more, any less and there was no requirement to pit

Never noticed that bug myself. It's the same bug that was in the original F1 game for the PSX in 1995! Johnny Herbert and David Coulthard would never pit :)

The stupid AI pace around Barcelona - which wasn't patched - was the reason I traded the game in.

The AI pace around Barcelona was the best AI in the game and Monaco probably, all other tracks the AI was horrendously slow at certain parts of the track.

I'm doing 10% I think..or is 20% the lowest? Can't remember now. But Alonso and Webber didn't pit, Vettel was leading end of 3rd lap, he pitted, I stayed out, pitted next lap, Alonso and Webber 15 seconds ahead - no pit.......umm!!

I haven't really noticed many other bugs apart from the obvious ones on Qualifying. The pit exit bug was fixed with the patch.

Looking pretty good so far, though what's up with the DRS in this vid?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA9g2laCP2s

See from 3:05 onwards, Hamilton's rear wing flap opens...closes, then opens at the chicane again?

If this is a bug (and not some "DRS always available option) I hope it's not a sign of things to come :/

Obviously they've coded Lewis to drive aggressively :p

I do hope that the AI uses things like Kers and DRS sensibly though.
