It's such a beautiful machine but my god! The binds for the weapon system oh my god. Honestly. That's a night of studying and trying to remember my binds.

I have a KB diagram for each of my aircraft controls. Really helps. The only aircraft I find my confusing is the A10. Being fair to the Apache, spend some time with it and it does build up muscle memory quickly

I'll need to print something out. There are way too many controls to remember. Some I didn't already know was set on my collective/throttle.

Well remember the real pilots don't wait for their new module to install and then hit fly. It takes them months.

I had no idea how this was going to pan out to be honest. Took me a while to dial in my sensitivities.

Desert Patriot livery by IrishFatty

Found the gorgeous RNLAF livery I've been hunting for. Need the one with 100 on it.

Also found Maverick and Goose along with Iceman and Slider.

I really like flying the Black Shark.
Haven’t flown it in quite a while, the BS3 update brought a big change to the INS; I felt the drift rate was too high to be fun even after a “long” alignment. It made multi-shark operations difficult, sharing a contact just a few minutes after doing an INS fix would still be 100’s if not 1000’s of yards “out”

I think I'm going to have to invest in a stick extension.... Seems very difficult to find the right sensitivity and curves with no extension for helicopters. It either feels just off or too much.

Had to DIY bungee cords into the pedals for finer initial adjustments. Too sensitive.

X axis seems ok around 74 to 76 saturation. Pitch suffers 84 or lower.

Or I need to go Virpil...

A stick extension was one of the first things I did when I started flying heli's and it makes a HUGE difference, def go for it.

Mine is mounted with pedals using some frame work.
Flying helicopters are easy with FF
I have a motorcycle damper on the pedals also.

this is going to sound very "oo matron", but I was expecting a much bigger stick extension.. I guess with a short extension then you need to mount it on something to put it in the right place.. but then again with a longer extension the force feedback would be reduced given the longer lever?

Mine is not just for helicopters also I still have full power from the base as you say the longer the weaker but make no mistake the AB9 moza base has a good force.
When flying the chinook the floor will shake if you get it out of shape.

It's all down to money & how much you want to spend flight sim gear is like hifi you can keep going
Any FF stick including the older Microsoft stick will change the way you fly helicopters.

Definitely don't think you want any curves for helicopters. Response should be identical regardless of stick position.

I have no experience of flying a real one, but from what I understand the problem with using a regular sprung joystick for helicopters is that the cyclic stick doesn't have a 'centre'. You should be able to hold the stick in any position without needing any force to keep it there. An extension should help in this respect because it effectively reduces the spring force, however if the springs are too light you end up with the opposite problem of trying to stop the stick falling to the sides.

As suggested, FFB is definitely the way to go if you intend to take this seriously.
