*** Official DCS World Thread ***

Only started getting into this a week ago. Steam Edition. I'm totally hooked but want to get a serious stick. Currently only playing on a Xbox Elite 2 controller.

Currently have F-4E, FA/18C, F14A/B, AH-64D, Ka-50, MI-24P.

Really loving the helicopters. Can't seem to find AH-6J.

Seems everyone recommends Virpil as the parts don't wear out... Just not sure which.

@V F , I think the first question is how much cash you want to pay out. At the top end I think it comes down to personal preferences.

On the OH-6, that's was a free mod, but it was taken down after some kind of dispute between the guys who put it together.

Virpil are great their build quantity is amazing and the customer service is also very good. I have tried a lot of other joysticks, rudder pedals & throttles nothing comes close Virpil or VKB.

Love helicopters+ want a serious stick+Virpil =
FFB -any FFB, even the vintage MSFFB2 - is amazing in DCS, I would ignore all dead spring gimbal sticks in 2026. If you want a portable joystick, then get MSFFB2 or a (much bigger) Moza. If size is no issue, get the above or Rhino/FFBeast/WinWing FFB.

I'm pretty interested in the Virpil FFB, not cheap but then Virpil gear never is. I've has a Mongoos-50 grip and base for a few years now and it's still like new. Never had a ffb set up.
I think I'd have to build a frame for it though, no way I could hang that off my desk! I've been playing the new il2 Korea and having a lot of fun in it.

I used a Virpil CM base for years, excellent piece of kit. If your budget doesn’t extend to FFB, a s/h Virpil base is IMO a great choice.

I added a Moza AB9 last year, using a Virpil grip. Had no issues, and really is a game changer. One thing that I believe to be true is that the software is just as important as the hardware for FFB. Moza’s experience with FFB wheels was a big plus sign for me.

I would like to stick with Virpil, as I really like their stuff. The Simfab seat on ebay looks like it would work well too with the cut out.
I currently use a 200mm extension so I'm guessing that might have to be reduced a bit.

If you buy the Simfab seat, keep us posted. I'm curious about how comfortable one is.
The only other seats that I'm aware of with cutouts are the NLR (which are by the sounds of it, not particularly comfortable) and the Monstertech (should that be monster priced).

I tried the Moza with a 200mm, and in the end, just went with the grip directly mounted to the base. The Virpil will be a LOT more powerful, making an extension a lot more viable.

I currently sit on a small folding office chair with a garden seat cushion so I'm guessing it will be...better... :D

I have monster tech mount for my joystick that claps to my desk. I made one for myself for the throttle.
It was really easy, I ordered the parts from eBay built it myself, just need to drill the holes.
