Welcome to the official F1 2011 League thread. This thread is the main hub for the league describing the rules and general league chat.



The OCUK league has been set up to primary have fun! We are all F1 fans and love racing. We are open to all skill levels no matter how fast/slow you are. We will race evrey 2 weeks on a sunday afternoon.

The league will have two divisions The L1 and L2, These leagues will be sorted by a two session time trial. The league will be split into even numbers and then the fastest racers will be put into L1, this means we have a competitive league.

If you do not attend the time trial you will not be allowed in the league, likewise if you place well in the time trial but dont think your driving is good enough to play with no assists please contact me.

We will not start the league until we have the first patch out to fox a few problems

THE DATE FOR THE FIRST TIME TRIAL WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON,

As well a drivers championship there will be a consructors championship drawn at random to determine team mates. Its up to you if you wish to stratergise with our team mate. You Must pick the car you have been assigned at the start at everey race.

Points will be scored like real F1 like below

1st : 25 points
2nd : 18 points
3rd : 15 points
4th : 12 points
5th : 10 points
6th : 8 points
7th : 6 points
8th : 4 points
9th : 2 points
10th : 1 point

Cars will be set to equal level so its a level playing field.

The msot important aspect of this league is to have fun! What is the most annoying thing in racing games? When some fool decides to use you as a brake so i encourage everyone to participate in clean driving. This includes using only one move to defend a position, Giving your oppenent enough room to pass and no moving in the braking zones. Please if anyone bends the rules please report them.

The rules for L1 are:

Braking: None
ABS: None
TC: None
Driving Line: None
Gears: Open choice
Pitlane: None

The rules for L2 are:

Braking: None
ABS: Open Chocie
TC: Open Chocie
Driving line: Open Chocie
Gears: Open choice
Pitlane: Open Chocie



Two Lobbies will be set up 20 minutes before the race iis scheduled. If anyone doesnt make it in time they will be given a DNF, its not fair to make people wait.

As soon as the lobby has started you will be under parc ferme meaning if you drop out the session you will not be allowed back in.

The races will have 50% race distance, dynamic weather, Fuel sim, Tyre Sim and dymaic weather enabled. The race will be set as a short race weekend with a 15 minute qulay window.

Its very hard to regulate but there is a known bug in custom setups. using 11/11 for the anti roll and suspension. Any combo of 10/10 or 11/11 is banned unless a Patch fixes it, I cant regulate it but please do not cheat as it gives a massive advantage with grip

Ok the TT will start NOW! , You have until the 27th at 9PM to submit a screenshot of your time. The leagues will be sorted using a combined time. If you want to be in L2 please state , We are using two tracks

Simply take a screenshot of your fastest time. Just like the official TT thread run by MrFantastic.

Where's cockpit only with all assists off?

Plus I wont be able to play yet until I get my other issue sorted.
 
Didn't see this, excellent thread. Confirm me.

Tbh, as many other users have stated, 8/8 9/9 are "bugged" too. Being Codies, I don't expect them to fix this, but we will see.

My other problem with the setup in the OP is that I want to be in league 1 (and on performance easily could be), but I just don't enjoy it with all the assists off.

Also hoping the race meets will be on weekends if the races are 50% long.

I don't want to sound like I am complaining too much, just want these things out there before the league starts.

P.S. I like the graphics that you made :)

This is why i only have banned 11/11 from the time trial thread because once you start banning more suspension setting it gets harder to tell what people are using and 11/11 is really easy to see if people are using it.

EDIT: i would like to join in the fun so put my name down please.

I'm the same. I'd much rather play with TC off, but it's impossible on a pad due to the way they coded the throttle response. Deadzone at start of push, 100% throttle at 60% push. It's ridiculous. Please allow TC stoke!
 
Honestly i cant just allow everything because i have other members who want everything strictly off even forced to cokcpit cam. I cant please everyone. I still think L1 should be all assists off, lets see what people think

For the late comers ill put names down but i cant gurantee you will get in unless a few people dont turn up for time trials day

I was thinking manual gears would be a def for L1, but it appears its not. I guess more people use automatic gears than i thought :)

Doesnt make me feel so bad when i use auto hehe

I think manual is a bit hard for pad users with the KERS and DRS buttons as well
 
Confirm me in as well.

For things like TC i can see why some want it banned, I tried full TC last night after only having used no assists so far and its was amazing how you could put your foot down and not worry about spinning and even let you take the corners in higher revs. I must have gained about half a second. Alternatively I could have just done it wrong, or got better at the track.

Gears I don't think is a problem, auto doesn't gain you time over manual does it?

I may try using an xbox controller tonight to see if no TC is really a prob.

This is the problem for me too, because I only have a cheap wheel it just doesn't work very well.

I get that it is difficult to please everyone and that there will be people who want them off. Problem is, if I end up in L2 just because I like the assists (and most of my gaming time has been with them) I am going to own the lot of them - and I can't imagine that being much fun for L2. See what others say I guess.

I might get some practice without assists just incase I end up not using them - ordinarily this is what I would do, but life is so busy at the moment I just can't put in the time commitment needed to get used to not having the assists.

The thing is, while people call it "bugged", the main problem is that tyre wear is not high enough with 11/11 and tyre wear actually has little impact on grip. Hell, in the race last night with OcUkers my tyres were worn to practically nothing (have never had my tyres this worn in 2011 before) and yet I was still setting faster and faster laps! I reckon it also depends on driving style - I find I get as much grip with 8/8, 9/9 and 10/10.
 
Honestly if you are fast as you claim and will "own" L2 then im sure you have the skills to learn how not use TC.

Simple as that imo i wont allow TC in L1. Go look at any of the race leagues on the internet and very few allow assists.

Hope this doesnt sound harsh but i dont think its fair on a few people who want this to be competivie. Imagine the arguments if i allowed TC and the people who dont use it are getting destroyed by TC users.

Having it off is a fair playing field imo
