*** Official F1 2013 thread ***

F1 2013 not much use after the season let alone first half of next year, wrong cars and engines, wrong KERS

First one - was pre ordered couldnt wait for it.
second one - was a bit warry, but pre-ordered anyway.
Third one- No chance of buying it, terrible devs with a terrible PR team one who comes on here sometimes. I hate the hood and id love to punch that smug face of his.

I've gone from Just take my money to I wouldn't give you my money if you was lying in a gutter dying. Well done codemaster. You had a licence to print money but with constant lies. Poor AI, greed and all round lazyness its really let you down.

If there's one studio i would like to see go bust its these guys they sure as hell deserve it. What there doing to F1 is sacrileges.

I said they could shove their games after the debacle of their first F1 game.

F1 2010 was so bad I remember at one point me and you were racing and you got a puncture, boxed then exited with ANOTHER puncture .... ah the memories.

I played a lot of 2011 actually, thought it was pretty good. After trying the demo of 2012 and feeling the braking I knew to avoid it. I've not seen enough of 2013 for it to convince me yet, maybe another demo trial will pop up on steam before launch and we will all get a feel for it.

Loving how Gerhard Berger is considered "Legendary", whereas Alain Prost is only "Famous":D Which one of them won the championship 4 times?

Not loving it as much as the fact that the 90s DLC description specifically lists Eddie Irvine as a selling point while relegating Schumacher, Hill, Senna and Hakkinen to "and others".

Pre-ordered the last 3 but this one looks like I'll pick it up when its a fiver. Day one DLC is a no go for me and the biggest things that need improvement for me don't get a mention apart from AI a little.

Fix bugs and improve online/AI/damage is all I wanted!

Sounds like they were actually ahead of their time with Pirelli realism :D:D:D
lol, so true!

Someone like iRacing or rFactor should snaffle up the license and do F1 a good thing. Though iRacing having it would be funny...

1. Buys iRacing to race F1 cars
2. Has to get out of rookies to a class A license
3. Trolls OcUK forums stating that rookies is impossible and they should have a no damage setting.

:D

I reckon I will probably pick it up at some point. Pre ordered 2010 and 2011, and got 2012 a few months after release. 2011 was probably my favorite, although I seemed to spend most of it time trailing which illustrates my contempt for the quality of the racing (both online and against AI).

No doubt I will pick this up out of curiosity if nothing else (of the old cars) but probably not until its sub £10. Hope the next gen version will up the anti quite a bit.

So, just over a week to go now until release (4th October). I know there isn't much love for Codemasters (including from me) after the previous ones but I'm actually quite looking forward to it. Got 2010 and 2011 and it seemed 2012 was a good decent bit better than it's predecessors. Also with the new classic stuff it does give a bit more of a reason to upgrade rather than just for updated liveries and a tiny bit of graphics!

A few new videos too from last week showcasing the classic additons.

Loads more videos here.

Definitely would be up for some OcUK racing/time trials. One thing I really did hate was the online aspect with randomers who seem to thing crashing is the name of the name!

Shopto seem to be the cheapest place to pre-order from for the basic game @ £19.85 which isn't too bad actually. GMG doing the Classic Edition for £27.00 with 25% off code. (GMG25-J4B0D-FLH8M)

Well, this is out today and I did pre-purchase a copy (mainly for the classic content), though I'm not exactly feeling excited about going home and getting to play it. Does anyone have any up-to-date information on the changes (if any) to career mode?

My thoughts

- graphically it looks near identical to f1 2012
- physics are still rubbish
- FFB has improved slightly but is still poor
- AI is still not competitive even on legend although they do battle you a bit harder than previous versions.
- You can still dive bomb t1 on lap 1 and make up about 10 places
- Wet weather is still rubbish, same braking points in the wet as in the dry, far too much grip, laps in the wet should be about 20 seconds a lap slower than they are.
- can still flat foot it over grass with all aids off
- you can still cut corners massively with no penalty and the physics are so rubbish that the car still remains glued to the track when you do it.

Meh

It's average, pick up and drive for a blast, dip into classic races, same old cutscenes, it's like they cut and paste from the previous ones, lazy developers with no vision :( should be ashamed of their talents, i really think codemasters should drop next year and spend time on a early 2015 F1 game :(
