Video looks like two different engines. The dog scenes look pre-rendered which I am pleased about as they look worse than the actual game footage.

Id like to get a better idea on how well or renders distant objects. I never played Rage, if it is the same engine how was it? I don't remember it setting the world alight.

Bring on fo4 with better colour palette and streamlined combat or non turn based if so I'd be so stoked. Not everyone agrees with me but still as that's what stopped me playing much. Hopefully with a new engine as ganevyro or whatever it was called had numerous issues iirc.

I'm not sure I'd want the Rage engine, iirc it had performance issues and didn't it not support SLI/CF?

To me it looks similar to the engine used in the previous fallout games but I guess we'll have to wait to find out.

Take care of the famous game slice publishers do they use a engine Max it out but when its out it maybe downgraded cis of performance issues cough consoles cough. We have seen it in trailers from aliens colonial marines and witcher 3 etc.

I swear this thread was like 14 pages long or maybe that is the console section :/

I would quite like bows in FO. They're the best bit of Skyrim and kind of fit with the setting! It would be better than the crappy bb gun and 10mm starting gun of fo3 anyway.

That thread got replaced by this one, so that it could have a proper and update-able opening post. Most of the posts in the original thread were arguing about the quality of the graphics and whether or not it was a port. That thread can be found here.

I hope we can move on from that in this thread. At least to some extent. I know some of you may not be happy with the quality of the graphics in the trailer, but these are early days. I encourage you to at least watch the uncompressed trailer.

Looks awesome! can't wait. Is there an release date yet?

Currently there isn't a release date. Hopefully we will find out what the release date is on the 14th. :)

How can you argue whether something is a port, when games aren't ported? :D

Acme, in response to your question in the other thread; I can't actually remember if I've pre-ordered from G2Play before. I feel like I might have pre-ordered the original Dead Island from them, but I don't know.

Oh yeah, I never thought about that. I originally got the collectors' edition of Fallout 3 from HMV all those years ago before I properly even knew what Fallout was.

I will keep a look out for any collectors' editions and pick one up if I can find one for £40 or less and cancel my G2Play pre-order.

I only really played FO3 on PC for around 10hrs, but I enjoyed it and felt the need to explore eveeeeerything in reach :o

The one annoying thing I found with it - if I loaded in to a point where I'd saved inside a building, I would very often fall through the floor of the map forever as I tried to exit the building :(

Hopefully less bugs with this one! It certainly looks the part - I await further footage that might make the visuals more clear cut.

:edit: I also properly bummed Fallout 2, but I have never found the time to finish it. There's something about the 2D format that made it a little more raw and somehow more immersive than the following 3D instalment! Hopefully they can source some of that je ne sais quoi for Fallout 4.
