I recently moved to a heavy gun PA build and love it. Almost at the point of being able to do the Guardian on my own with the help BeeP gave me.I've started maybe 6 characters so far but the highst is only 110~. The new game experience is actually really good as long as you just wander around and find things to do and don't just beeline the main quests.
think I've done all main levelling build types now though with the last one being a pure archer from early level
the one I'm most likely to log in to is the heavy gunner PA build, totally stock with nothing fancy but it's fun and gets the job done
I was talking to Ced today and he thinks AP is your main problem with the guardian, kind of like what we spoke about last night, there is a card that removes 30 AP rather than you taking damage, if you only have around 100 AP then that will be a problem.I recently moved to a heavy gun PA build and love it. PA build also mean it's easier to do Daily Ops and Expedition runs solo so ammo farming is sorted.
I think the issue I had was I forgot junk shield, didn't use my vamps weapon at the right time to have bullet shield up and I think I need to add 1 more into fireproof and maybe lone wanderer when solo.I was talking to Ced today and he thinks AP is your main problem with the guardian, kind of like what we spoke about last night, there is a card that removes 30 AP rather than you taking damage, if you only have around 100 AP then that will be a problem.
I find that when I fight him the first hit is the worst, I spam 2-3 stimpacks straight away so my health is already regenerating, after that I more or less just hang around until he kills his own shield, just watching my health and stimpacking as needed. You could use the Holy Fire to help regen health, I sometimes use a vamp minigun if I'm short of stimpacks but he often stuns you and stops you firing so that can be dodgy.
@Flibster don't you find it crazy that you can now recharge plasma cores but not ultracite ones, or did I miss something?
Random! Your system should be doing 4k ultra.Well I think I just found part of the problem and that is that afterburner for some reason had put my GPU on a 33% power limit lol.
Ok yeah think that was it.

How did it apply that limit? Good you found the issue.
@Noxia did you tweak the settings files, by default vsync is enabled and can cause issues
Documents\My Games\Fallout 76
create a new file called Fallout76Custom.ini
then try adding in some of these settings

Fallout76Custom.ini - Pastebin.com
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.pastebin.com
iPresentInterval is vsync
also limit fps to 120 using nvidia settings or amd equivalent, over 120 can caues game issues
with nvidia overlay thingme you can try using nvidia hdr + sharpen. The game is a bit blurry stock
Autoaxe as he is coming up, make sure you are behind him and hitting his fusion cores (the 3 things behind him that are yellow with red tips), look for sparks and white numbers. As soon as he is up and turns to face you then you switch to vampire....unless your friend distracts him then stay on autoaxe and keep hitting those cores. If there are two of you I would only use autoaxe and stimpacks, much simpler.Had a great night last night in raid room 1. Got my friend 4 out 6 on a Vulkan PA set and we both got a fair few mods.
It was a bit of trial and error with me learning when to switch weapons and when to use the Autoaexe. I did find spots on the guardian where I was hitting 2.8k to 3k damage so I know my damage is good, just need to keep those stimpak supers as they helped a lot.
On top of that, only 9 levels to go on the scoreboard and not touched my weeklies yet. So close to 150!
When he first turns to me switching to a vamps weapon so I just count to 5 and switch which has been working for me. I need to sort myself out a machine gun with a drum mag and vamps so I don't have to reload. I think I can solo him now too.Autoaxe as he is coming up, make sure you are behind him and hitting his fusion cores (the 3 things behind him that are yellow with red tips), look for sparks and white numbers. 3k with 2 on the team sounds about right, looking for yellow numbers on the second phase with the autoaxe.
Really pleased for you matey, it's a great way to get a whole heap of stuff and a decent chunk of xp for around 3 minutes work (all in including turn around).
I did all of my stuff last night, think I ended up around lvl 175/176 on the scoreboard.
Aye that's why I use my vamp minigun, if you do eviction notice you get the foundations vengeance which is basically a vamp minigun as far as I remember anyway.....can't remember if it explodes as that might not be a good thing lol. When he first turns to me switching to a vamps weapon so I just count to 5 and switch which has been working for me. Nice one hitting 175!
We were getting to the point of the overheat blowing. A couple of times we got him down and then a second later he blew up, we died but got the rewards lol.Aye that's why I use my vamp minigun, if you do eviction notice you get the foundations vengeance which is basically a vamp minigun as far as I remember anyway.....can't remember if it explodes as that might not be a good thing lol.
I'm consistently around 50 seconds to solo him so around 1 minute cycles. I honestly wish they would just fix this properly then we could just move to Gatling Plasma how it should be done.
How is your mate enjoying it so far?
