Luckily I was one of the first 64 people to sign up to the FIWC tournament next Saturday in HMV Trocadero so Ill def be there, anyone else going? :)
 
Yeah, hes pace just makes him fly past everyone and then you have a one v one so all other stats dont even come into play with it. sometimes you will have your other player so you can just square it as well!

Caught my defence out atleast once. Shame I got the better of you that game though ;)
 
I'm sorry but Martins is terrible. :D

I'd like to see you guys play, you must be playing against other players who don't know how to defend if you can just run past people. Pace is ruled out if you have a solid backline marking space instead of the man, the pace only really matters when ill-disciplined players allowed their defence to be dragged about the pitch.
 
Sometimes defending really well doesn't matter. If you have a slower backline it's sometimes impossible to defend against a well played 1-2 (something I use a lot as I have two very quick strikers), and the moment the strikers are through you've never catching them again. It's how I score a good proportion of my goals as it can be so hard to defend against if you do it right.

I'm not so sure, 1-2's can be hard to defend against but a decent enough player will see two players approaching the backline and press LB to switch to a defender and then just move him backward, OR play an offisde trap, granted it doesn't work every time but with practice it can be effective. That still doesn't change the fact that Martins is shocking, if you want a good player for a similar price just buy Bent. :p
 
bent> martins any day. Those were my strike froce. In the same number of games, bent had 3 times the number of goals that martins did simply because martins shooting is cack.
 
Heh, same here, won it twice now, mainly because I don't think my all French team is good enough to win the Paddy's tournament online.

Do you still get the 4.5k bonus money if you win it repeatedly offline?

Kill Il give you a game later on tonight (bout 11, at work till 10) see if you can handle martins ;) I was going to get bent but he was 3-5k. I picked Martins up for 800 coins so bargin in my opinion since hes scored 14 goals in 4 starts for me :)
 
Oh, I should be around most of the weekend to play, as the wife is on a hen weekend, so if anyone fancies a game just gimme a shout (GT = DaveyPitch).
 
Regarding Martins, I always found his finishing was poor but his long range shooting superb. People need to remember he's left footed, his right foot is weak!

I have Martins for sale if anyone wants :)

Yeah good game dude, I was looking at the stats and it was pretty much 50/50 or thereabouts for everything. :)

I'm trying to grind this tournament so I can buy Ribery for that team, as solid as Malouda is he just doesn't do it for me and I like Bastos at left back.
