*** Official FIFA 11 Thread ***

I don't know if any of you guys ever experience this, but sometimes I have a player in my team who has weaker stats than another, but he always seems to perform well/better than the guy with the good stats. An example I have is Ballack and Rolfes in the CDM role, now Ballack has much superior stats to Rolfes but whenever I bring Rolfes in he just seems more aware, a bit snappier to respond, his passing seems better too even though the stats suggest it is worse than Ballack's.

I was thinking that perhaps morale is playing a part in this but Ballack has better morale due to starting games for me more often, it isn't anything to do with fatigue either because I always rotate my squad when they get under 85 fitness.

noo, it can be anything, Links the players have with other players, formation, side you play him on, morale, fitness, it could be just the formation you are playing against, if your testing one against a 442, then testing one against a totally different team, then ofcourse, they will play different, players have different Traits too, some players will push, some players will drop back, depending on there traits, theres allot too it.

Then ofcourse you have all the ingame stats you cant see, for example here is one players FULL stats.

IF Reyes

Acceleration-88
Agility------87
Balance------74
Jumping------65
Reactions----81
Sprint Speed-85
Stamina------97
Strength-----64
Aggression---51
Positioning--87
Tact. Aware--21
Vision-------84
Ball Control-88
Crossing-----87
Curve--------98
Dribbling----90
Finishing----87
FK *.--------95
Heading *.---64
Long Pass----79
Long Shots---88

Penalties----88
Short Pass---86
Shot Power---89
Slide Tackle-21
Stand Tackle-15
Volleys------87

ATT Rate: High
DEF Rate: Low

3* Weak Foot
4* Skill Moves

the stats you dont see that are major factors in how players perform.

Its all well and good having a player with 99 shooting, 99 pace, 99 passing, 99 Dribble, but what if he only has 30 Reactions, would you have him then ?, the stats you cant see play a huge factor in performance.

He's a CDM so there is only 1 place he can play as it's in a 4-1-2-1-2. All of my players are the same nationality and play in the same league and everyone has 11 chemistry and the correct formation cards so... :p

I guess maybe my opponents team might factor in but he seems to be consistently better than Ballack in any match I play him in, and I am talking about defensive midfield role of which tackling, passing and heading would probably be the main things to excel in, all of which Rolfes is worse on paper at than Ballack which is why I don't understand.

like i said above, the stats you cant see mate, check the FULL stats, people dont pay any attention to them, and there just as important, if not, more important than the default 6 stats on the card.

Like the Acceleration stat, thats so much more important than the Pace stat....,Reactions, unbelievably important!
Balance, Sprint speed, Tact Awareness, positioning, all important.

Believe it or not I have played the game outside of UT mode and I'm aware that each player has more than 5 stats... :p

Acceleration isn't more important than the players top speed, if they only have a top speed of 50 then it doesn't really matter how quickly they get to it.

how can you not understand that, and i wasnt saying you didnt know, its just 99% of the population on the game only look at them stats, and ofcourse Acceleration is just as important, its only the Wingers and the Strikers that normaly get to 'Sprint' allot during a game, what comes first, its Reactions, Agility, Accelration, then its Pace.

Reactions to react to a pass, Agility to adjust your position and turn, then acceleration to take off, how is Pace anymore important than them ? it's not, fact.

pace is the last thing on that chain, if you cant do any of them leading upto 'Pace' then pace is useless.

you can pick 99 pace by all means, but if he's got the Agility of a elephant, the Acceleration of a turtle, and the balance of dog on a Uni-cycle, then good luck.

The other factor to remember is the positioning boosts you dont see on the UT squad screen.
Maicon an 86 card becomes an 88 overall on the rwb of my formation, eto becomes a 90 ovr if played as a CF not a ST.
Then theres just the way that some players will click with your style and some wont.

@K1LLSW1TCH

Rolfes 79 overall

Acceleration 74
Agility 67
Reactions 85

tact awar 86

Ballack 84 overall

Acceleration 71
Agility 64
Reactions 84

tact awar 80

ballacks pants anyway, everyone knows that.

but anyway thats why he's a little more aware, a bit snappier to respond. you said you knew about the ingame stats?, check them, and you'd know.

when i made my first team, learning from last years i prioritised different stats for different positions, and i lost about 10 games in 100, then i just got bored. :p

like when picking my CDM these are what id look at - Defence, Strength, Aggression, Position, Tact Aware, Passing, Reactions, Agility, Acceleration, Pace, Passing - in order of importance, although they are all pretty god damn important! gets a little geeky though, some may just want too play :)

this is also why allot of people moan when they see certain players with high 80's 90's pace getting beaten by people with pace in the low 80's 70s, people really need to get used to checking them ingame stats, they tell you allot more about a player than them showing on the card.
