***Official Final Fantasy XIV Thead***

yeah they have said there will be mission guildleves that take 30 mins
also for levelling, you won't be as rectricted to a 6 person party as ff11 to make decent exp.
soloing/duoing is going to be an option... meaning less of those 1-2 hour "looking for parties"!

careful posting screenies. NDA and all if someone does report you and links screeny to your character kiss goodbye to your beta access, seen it happen

and remember 6pm GMT is 7pm UK time with daylight saving ;p

i want them to make the changes and bring out a new client for alpha 2... let alone the beta client

alpha is so so so limited, and the big big problems with combat lag/limited gathering are tiring me out
still i've got every faith in this game being fantastic. it won't rival wow's popularity and im glad... as long as they make endgame as challenging as ff11, we've got a winner.

all guildleves so far trigger instanced mobs and instanced mining points etc. so you still travel out into the world where all other PCs are but the mobs you engage only you as the quest holder are allowed to engage. likewise with mining points from guildleves, they vanish after you tap them

I REALLY REALLY hope they have NMs and HNMs that are not instanced. part of the joy of ff11 was the competition, you had to work damn hard.
im confident there will be...

I remember reading the Knights of the Round site months ago and I couldn't help but laugh. Control freak, rules, cliche groups, ***-kissing etc, not really my thing.

Make friends, have fun and give and take. That's all that matters. Unless its late-end-game and you need someone to organise people and arrange events etc. Otherwise these things are a nightmare to be part of.

Personally, from my experience with FFXI, I would never again join a LS that is so hell bent over the leadership and rules and "ranks" of its members.

well you've got completely the wrong idea mate...

maybe its the rulebook that gives this impression.
the rulebook we've put up there is just a safeguard against dramas... all common sense, all completely standard and only really there in case we get grievers so we can just say "look you signed up to the LS, grieved and broke this rule... la la la. you're out"
sure its full of legalese but again, if anyone whos a griever argues... theres a clear case against them.

we are a SOCIAL shell, completely relaxed about leadership, as for ranks of members. you have new recruits, members and officers like virtually every guild out there...
we've got a great community on msn/vent

apologies you've got the wrong idea, but no worries. we've got a great little community of over 40 members now and are doing well and having fun.
hope you have fun in your guild.

That's totally ridiculous, the game doesn't look graphically good enough to warrant such high requirments! For me the beta isn't too encouraging and this clearly shows they don't know how to optimize correctly; definatley not getting this game.

i have to agree, it really isnt very well optimised, its not doing anything new and the graphics are good but definitely shouldnt need as high a spec as it does !

im really liking the beta now ive hit 20+
lvl 30 leves are a very good challenge

once they get the incredibly broken party exp sorted, along with the menu lag and all bug fixes, im happy... cant wait for a launch

thats a popular theory,

I'm opposed to the surplus system being as extreme as it is.

In phase 3 beta I hit around 80% surplus at one point on my thaumaturge, but i had surplus on my thaumaturge, conjurer, botanist and miner simultaneously so it needs serious tweeking.

It's not the game breaker everyone makes it out to be though

I'm headed to Cornelia in release with the linkshell I'm in, did notice a post on ffxivcore saying that some OcUK were also going cornelia?

couple more days!

player numbers have dropped slightly since launch. still loads playing though.

starting to enjoy lvl 30 leves in big parties, and dinged 27 weaver (trying to catch up with a couple of JPs who were level 37 last time I checked) :(

its got a hell of a lot better since launch, that goes without saying. its still vastly different to most other MMOs and that combined with the fact that they're still not convincingly pulling it off means its still very much an acquired taste. and it REALLY isnt enjoyable unless you get yourself in an existing linkshell quick and learn its intricacies.

That being said I'm just starting to really like it again and there's more than enough content to keep even the most hardcore happy till 2.0 if they're starting from scratch.
