***Official Formula One 2012 Thread***

Obviously not getting the message :p

This has quickly become my favourite Codies racing game - now that I have gotten to grips with the handling model I am challenging for pole and the win on most circuits, but not by any kind of silly margin like in 10 and 11. The handling really is superb - Spa really is thrilling now.

I'm really enjoying this even though I'm terrible at driving games! But whats up the AI speed?

I'm mean once they get ahead of you they seem to get a huge speed boost. I was doing low 1:40's on Silverstone and steadily building about a 5 second gap from the AI doing mid 1:41's. Then I mess up on Priory corner and Rosberg shoots past and proceeds to do a 1:38 on the next lap?

You will find that if they are running rich with fuel they will find a massive boost. It isn't just when they are ahead though, it is just that if they are directly behind you then you are probably holding them up. The biggest problem is that they don't seem to be affected by high fuel load.

You really do have to plan your race smart if you’ve got fuel and tyre wear turned on, especially if it rains.

You can easily lose vital seconds if you try and eek out a few extra laps on tyres that have gone off, run out of fuel or even pit at the wrong moment if you think it’ll rain..

I was at Budapest last night, chances of rain… I stayed out past my pit window in a hope it would rain, by the third lap on tyres that had gone I was losing 5+ seconds a lap, it did rain, I pitted for medium rain tyres but should have gone for full wets.. I lost that race as I had no grip and had to pit again..

If I’d gone with full wets from my first stop I’d have won… Great game, not easy to win if played right..

This is what I love about this title. I was a few seconds a lap quicker than the AI in Singapore, but took way too much life out of my tyres on the first stint meaning I had no grip and got caught really quickly. Only just finished ahead in the end. Rain is a whole other ball game :D

Strategy really is so important in F1 2012.

Started 10th in South Korea, everyone started on dry tyres, but it started raining on the grid. Got up to third, everyone pitted, but they all went onto another set of dry tyres and I opted for inters. Got held up in the pit stops, but by the time we all got to S3 it was raining much heavier and I flew passed them all :)

Had to change back onto dry tyres later on in the race as it started to dry up again.

I like having to make these decisions, in 2011 it never really mattered as much.

Finally completed my first season. Mclaren next season :)

Really liking the dynamic weather system, it certainly keeps things interesting.

Looking forward to having more power from the mclaren and no longer having to defend like a madman on the straights.

Just got a 121.822 lap on Monza in time trial and only 343 on the global leader board, jesus, what are these guys using? rocket fuel? or am I just crap? I felt like I was ringing the cars neck and don't know how to find more speed.
Download my ghost and tell me where i'm going wrong.

Most of them are probably finding the tiniest little places where they can cut. Probably a fair few using hacks too.

On my second season currently in the McLaren and still really enjoying :)
