***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I'm not sure if I want the hard copy or steam version. On the one hand, having it on steam makes it easier for communicating with friends and having all my games in one place but one the other hand it is nice having hard copies of games like this with the maps and stuff. Also we can only get 16Mb internet so download time will be very long :(

Before I puke my guts up, is there a way to turn off that awful headbob? I have turned it off in options, but the screen still bobs up and down slightly when running!

I've also had to turn off options such as camera level adjust and also increased FOV. I still feel like I want to puke

Got the Retail today

7 DVD's + 55 MB UPDATE + 5 GB UPDATE!!!

approx 1:30 Hours to install before updates

Fun times....

Rushed home from work to install this. Found my optical drive dead (shows how much I use it!). Rushed off to PCWorld :o , bought replacement drive.

And now you're telling me I've got to download 5GB to play?

I only bought the hard copy because my internet is a complete joke!

It's going to be a loooong night

This is the same for me, am i missing something obvioous?

Edit: sorted!

Perhaps I should have explained why I edited but I was to embarrassed now I know I'm not the only one.

You have to press enter to be able to scroll down to see the other options (I just thought the menu wouldn't scroll and they were generic to the menu whether scrolling was possible or not on that part of the options)

When all said and done, after the joy of how well it runs, is it really that much different and better looking than what we have on the consoles?

I haven't even got it on PC yet but can say, without a doubt, yes it looks a lot better than on any console. Capable PCs can push out better frame rates and better AA. Not to mention other graphical effects found only in the PC version.

Disappointed with performance on my 970 (@1080p), seeing regular dips down to 30/40 fps even with some settings turned down to high (rather than very high) - this is with FXAA rather than MSAA.

Judging by some other peoples comments, this doesn't seem right?

This game looks amazing at 1440p, I can only imagine what it looks like at 4K.

Yup, though I'm now running it at 2560x1080 as opposed to 3440x1440. Have been able to enabled TXAA and maximum shadow qualities now too at this res, makes for a nicer picture all round with a constant 60fps as opposed to up to ~50 at the higher resolution.

If i download the game on my laptop which can have super fast internet because 60GB is big enough to download. Can I take the program files and copy it over to my main computer without effecting it too much?
