***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

It's not so much the loading that's starting to bother me online it's people desyncing and the way cars and stuff move when you're a passenger just breaks the immersion.

That and I'm seeing more and more cheaters daily.

The number of times I'm in a car on a hest saying to the driver "are we jsut going to sit here then?" when I've desynced, seen the car crash into a wall and then sit there for a couple of minutes. Suddenly I'll resync and we're just about to get out of the car at the objective and start a firefight!.

I'm not sure I've seen many cheaters yet as I seem to get done over by just about everyone so it's tricky to tell! :(

Check out the video in Post #2, shows the differences with Normal/HighVery High, some of them are very minimal!

Thanks for that vid. I was able to pull off all suggestions for High End PC. Just wanted to let GTX 970 owners that with "Adaptive" V-Sync, I could run stunning and solid 60 FPS (no stutter) @ 1080p with these settings ONLINE:

Texture Quality: Very High
Shader Quality: High, softest
Shadow Quality: Very High
Reflection Quality: Very High
Water Quality: High

Post FX: High

Antialiasing: MSAA x2
Reflection MSAA: off
Anisotropic Filtering: x16
Ambient Occlusion: High
Tessellation: High

Distance Scaling: Maxed
Extended Distance Scaling: 0
High Resolution Shadow: on
Extended Shadow Distance: off

Is this a game meant to be played at 60fps?

Im usually quite good with playing under 60fps, but in GTAV... I just cannot stop fiddling.

Shouldnt have touched the settings. I was happy. :o

Has anyone with a 970 tried, all settings max FXAA on no MSAA at all, but DSR up to 1440p? Any good performance wise?

I might also try using the Geforce experinced settings and then add MSAAx2.

:p

You beauty, will try this when I get home!!

The good news is, the reality is that the differences between the settings are really quite minor. Im just OCD and cant compute less than MAX settings!!

OK

You may want to see Video from Steve at Gamers Nexus

It is about customer service issues with R* and the hacked accounts.

I am not sure if it is the same with the UK number but the telling info is at the end when he talks about the password that was used by them and the sessions remaining open.

Got my new overclocked gtx 980 today, running this game like a dream, very happy indeed.

Damn you Witcher, just deliberating to buy another 970 for SLI or go 980... Then I need to buy myself a widescreen 34" monitor for that kinda power to drive, but then if I find the 980 isnt enough for the monitor I need to go SLI 980, god i'm going to be skint :)

I'll be giving that a try too, with the mid-range settings. Didn't realise the texture blurriness can be fixed with some Anistropic filtering.

I have found borderless windowed and capped via rivatuner at 60 to be better than adaptive. Can't stand the tearing on the odd occasion it dips below 60fps.

I've found running the game Boredless Windowed to be buggy. There's a common problem among my group that the camera freezes on the character model (zoomed in) and can only be fixed when you alt-tab in and out of game through Fullscreen mode.

You can set it to Fullscreen and back to Windowed Borderless to fix it too if that's your preference.

Would that be worth an upgrade for the money going from 970 to 980? The 980 I have every single setting on max all the sliders pushed up, vsync is off and I need to turn that on in the control panel. Game is capped at 60fps with afterburner and I have not dropped below it yet.
