***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I have 10 leave days to take before now and the months end.

I feel that my daughters birthday tomorrow is a good enough reason to take the day off, the fact that GTAV coincides with this is merely good fortune.

I just hope I can run it ok on my 780!

Me and you both man! I even have an overclock profile saved just in case I need a little more grunt!

I'll be on a midnight, if there is a huge patch I will start it running, go to bed wake up and have a play with everything (fingers, toes and nuts crossed) in the morning.

Thankyou! I can't believe this isn't explained somewhere, surely it shoudl be in the first page of this thread?

Want me to play the game for you as well? There are two ways to get this game, it's either Steam or R*.

Either

Go to Steam and redeem the game

Or

Go to R* and redeem the game.

It's not rocket science is it.

Handbags at dawn!! :D :D

(to be fair it took me 5 mins to figure it out earlier as I am not familiar with the R* site)

Think you two were separated at birth then :D

I didn't think we needed to have a guide for redeeming the game code.

I shall start work straight away.

Dang. So GTA V appears to have installed itself in my root D:/Games folder instead of D:/Games/GTA5/

If I try and cut and paste all the files into the folder manually, when I run the launcher it tries to download all 60gb again.

Can anyone think of a way around this, or should I just put up with the files making a mess in the main games directory?

I did the exact same, even have the same drive letter. I can't find a way around it, I don't want to muck it up before the game starts just in case!
