***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

They have made a background update this afternoon and you can now access the office PC from an invite-only session.

Which makes things a little less hectic trying to register as a CEO/Biker

Well finished the Dre stuff. Apart from him being in it, what a load of crap.
There is zero effort put in on this. The missions are just not worth the hassle.

So I am done again. They really have run out of ideas if they think bringing in a big name and trotting out a load of mediocre contact missions is a DLC.
Music is great though.

LSPDFR and rage hook updates are out so won't be long.
Cool i will keep my eye out.
May i ask u a question please?
I'm new to gta5 modding, i have a vr mod using scripthookv that is installed directly into the gta main folder, it works fine.

But the other day i tried to install a replace all cars with real cars mod. This mod didnt work.
This cars mod installation guide made use of openiv plus the creation of a mods folder for the mod to go in.

What i'm trying to get at is is it possible to have a mod (my vr mod) in the main directory as well as having mods (cars) in a mods folder?
I'm thinking maybe this caused the problem?

Yes it is but I've got all my mods in my mods folder. Reason being if it goes pear shaped you can delete the mods folder and it won't effect your vanilla game.

Using OpenIV makes everything so much easier definitely worth getting.

ahh that's a shame i quite enjoyed it, i still have to do the Franklin/Lamar mission at the end to open the Record A Studio as a location but it needs 2 players and i've not found a random to do it with yet

Thx for the heads up Matt!

Reason i have 1 mod directly in my gta folder is because the installation instructions were to just install there, i'm not (yet) sure how to install with openiv and use a mods folder if the instructions dont specify how to do this.

No problem :) ah if it says that then go for it. Some mods maybe slightly different I haven't got the VR one myself.

Here is the video I followed for installing cars. Uses Open IV. I've actually only just replaced that car pack its nice!

Updated to latest scripthookv, all works, no mods needed updating, thanks.

About that vid you linked, is the carpack he installs emergency vehicles only? I'm after something that replaces the standard gta5 cars with real cars. I do have a vid that does this but as previously mentioned no luck with it as yet, trying again soon (now i have latest scripthookv).

LSPDFR ive had a quick read up on, it looks cool, its definitely on my radar of mods to try out.

Edit: i got my cars mod to work :) the problem was it was a 3.4gb oiv file (200 cars) that was trying to be clever when i installed the mod using openiv by installing its own scripthookv file which was out of date. So i just reinstalled latest scripthookv after the mod and all is fine.

Yeah they're all installed the same way / file path. Guess with normal cars you don't need to worry about ELS (emergency light system files).

I haven't added any no emergency cars but all vehicles are in the same file on openiv.

Just make sure with any vehicles you also install the relevant meta file as the handling lines will be wrong.

I forgot yesterday and flipped my SUV in a simple police chase.

Been playing around with reshade to add some life to this almost 10 year old game, there are some really nice post process effects that don't eat fps but makes the game pop, and most important can use online.

The ones I'm currently using are:

Essential
  • SMAA
  • NFAA
  • Quint debanding
  • Clarity
  • Quint sharpening
On the fence
  • Fake HDR
