***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

How the **** do you play this game without about 4 sets of hands!?!?!

I've gone back to play through the story mode and whenever I get to a mission where you have to drive, aim and fire at a moving target in order to disable a vehicle, all whilst getting battered by the cops, I just die!

I'm at a relatively early mission where I've got to hijack a truck for some knockout gas and as soon as I start shooting at the truck I'm swamped with cops and if I'm able to get the truck stopped, I just get mown down by about a dozen cops before I can get anywhere near the truck!

Got this recently to give it another whirl after seeing some of the insane mods on YouTube. Seems like all the good graphics ones want you to sign up to tons of different monthly subscriptions. Are there any good guides to improving stuff (thinking RDR2 here) and any gameplay ones to adjust the driving for example? Seems like a minefield.

The short answer is no. Sod paying for mods under such conditions. It was the same with Cyberpunk for a while before some modders laughed at these patreon modders and released the same things for free on nexus.

Whoever said this game looks dated needs to check themselves :D I'm still having a blast in GTA Online...

Ha I didn't kmeveb even know there was such an update. Oh well, 3rd play through here I come.
Yeah it was the PS5 next generation update that added some RT, they mentioned late last year PC would get it in early 2025 but didn't say much else. Looks like PC will get that and even more graphics updates.

Technical Enhancements

Depending on hardware support, GTAV players on PC who upgrade will be able to enjoy:

  • Ray tracing features only available on PC such as ambient occlusion and global illumination — plus ray traced shadows and reflections first debuted on consoles
  • Support for AMD FSR1 and FSR3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3
  • Faster loading times using SSD and DirectStorage on supported devices and configurations
  • Enhanced support for higher resolutions, higher aspect ratios, and higher framerates
  • DualSense® controller support, with adaptive triggers
  • Enhanced audio with support for Dolby Atmos and improved fidelity of speech, cinematics, and music

I may actually play the single player now, Only ever used it for the benchmark :D

If it's anything like the console version then it'll likely be underwhelming.
It's got more stuff and flashy bits than the console version. Should be good.

When playing currently i have to limit the frame rate as over a certain level it stutters cause the game can't cope. I believe the update increases the supported frame rate.

I don't think I actually own this on PC. Well I think I've got it on epic games but that basically doesn't count.

Turn down the fanboying bud, It's at very high levels of cringe :p
I think this is how he's coping with being banned from the GPU forum.
