Had the Legendary Edition on pre-order since it was available to order. Really looking forward to another episode of the Halo universe :).
 
I havent been looking forward to this at all. I just forgot it was so soon. Only this week my mate asked if I was getting reach next month. I got instantly excited. Really pleased I havent followed this one. Its defo the way to go.
 
im stoked for new halo games as much as the next science fiction nerd, but i keep thinking to myself 'god i hope they do more than just add those irriating jetpacks!', they were annoying since every single person used them on the beta practically! :(
 
The other armor abilities are equally useful though, I'd like to think Bungie balanced them all. The holograms will probably get the most usage.
 
dont get me wrong i liked the beta, it was good fun! but the armour abilities seem a little crappy for me personally, i think stuff would have been better off seperated between spartans and elites, in the halo universe, the UNSC do NOT possess cloaking technology for example, so why is it needed for them to have it in reach? annoys me that developers just add stuff that seems totally out of place in the specific universe, just screams lack of creativity personally :rolleyes:

Gameplay always takes precedence over story in a good game though. Retcons have happened all through the series, the aliens speaking English in Halo 2 is a big example. Saying the developers lack creativity because one of the armor abilities is stealth camouflage is a bit too harsh.
 
I have to say I loved the beta. I really wasnt a fan of halo 3 MP (Played my share though). I found the slightly different skill set and pace in the beta to be more to my liking.

A larger % of noobs running round will be nice also.
 
HERP DERP. Can't wait for this, the beta was chuffing brilliant and the slow trickle of information on new maps etc. is getting me mega hyped! Lets hope the SP is up to scratch, they seem to be keeping very quiet on that front. The snippets we've seen so far look impressive, and I think Bungie are plowing everything they can into the game considering its their last.
 
I have got massively into the Halo Universe at the moment - my daily commute into outter London has involved me listening to the AudioBooks - 60% into The Fall Of Reach at the moment with the others lined up.

Got my Legendary Edition & Special Edition 360 S on Pre-Order!

The only downfall is I am in Turkey 9th-20th Sept :( - stupid girlfriend did not choose the best times... so I will have to wait a little longer!

That's quite nice though....when the holiday ends you get to come home to a nice treat.

still tossing up whether i'll be getting the limited ed console or not, looking like a yes at the moment, i have the money i'm just waiting to see if i can get a better bundle deal at release :P

just think that giving the elites the stealth camo would give them a unique flavour, and counter it by giving the spartans unique abilities. in the novels the UNSC possessed SPI (semi-powered infiltration) armour that let the user 'blend' into the surroundings, like octo-camo from MGS4. to be honest i think there is a solution to every potential story/gameplay clash if people are willing to give it some thought. thats my single biggest gripe with game developers as a whole, lack of adding finishing touches that make the game stand out in the sea of generic rubbish. COD: MW2 suffered horribly in lots of ways, mainly down to how all the guns were almost the same, i mean sniping with an uzi, come on?

you pay good money for a game, is it wrong to want a bit of thought going into the product rather than sacrificing the whole 'halo: universe' theme for the sake of un-diverse gameplay? to be honest as much as i will be getting reach ill always feel as though its a huge missed opportunity to add something new to the series. why can't we have a new multiplayer mode, bad company II style, covenant vs. UNSC with few spartans/elites in each side, the rest marines/ODSTs, etc. are you trying to tell me you think that halo: reach is a well thought out and 'creative' product? :confused:
