I think the videos are actually rendered ingame but put in videos. Probably so they could full AA and keep the framerate consistent.

Yeah Insomniac do this too, the reason Insomniac are doing it, besides the post processing, is that it helps disguise load screens.
If the cut scenes are in MPEG format, it allows them to do loading in the background, quite clever i thought.

This game is absolutely stunning. I will be playing this many times through i think. The fighting mechanics i think are spot on. Should keep me going until Ratchet and Clank comes along.
 
Im loving the aftertouch on things in this game, at one point there was a group of Bohans men on a ledge the other side of me instead of going down i just kept chucking shields at them. I manged to get 4 at once with the ricochet after touch going on. Im not sure whats with some the mags and game sites giving this less than an 8, theres nothing wrong with either combat be it Narikos or Kais . Favorite non cut scene moment (as they are amazing) is the rocket launcher type thing in the second level. In fact the whole second level was great, the bosses so far have been good, love the bitch fight (kinda) between Nariko and Whiptail, some old school boss fights, remembering patterns of attacks best combos to use etc. Im not bothered if its only going to be 8 hours long if this is the standard of the rest of the game, have i said the cut scenes are awesome!
 
I am absolutely loving this game. The Wii like Sensor stuff is awesome! :)

Far better than i expected. I am enjoying this more than Bioshock :)
 
Love it, only got it early on rent from where i work so need to buy it tomorrow, but its really really good, prefer it to ninja gaiden.
 
From the very start HS Dev said they wanted to make a playable movie!!!!!
Thats why the game looks stunning good acting and the best faces in any game so far. The game Dev have deivlered what they said they where going to do. a 7-10 hour playable movie

Think the problem is Gods of war set new standards in the action game :) And people wanted it to beat it.

Guess we have to wait for Gods of War 3 :D
 
played the demo on mates PS3 the other day - i enjoyed it; i tried to get him to get full game instead he got Dynasty Warriors Gundam

Funniest bit in a game Ive seen for a long while!
In the third mission when you are trying to get the password after setting off the fireworks, the commander is prone on the floor and wont give her the password. She then points her bow gun at his dangley bits and says shall I hit your weak spot for massive damage :D:D:D

Sorry if others dont find it funny but at least they can laugh at themselves lol
 
Got this yesterday but only just got round to trying it. Much better than the demo, rather enjoying it. Deffinately trying to be GoW, but it's different enough to be good on its own. Had to turn the silly motion sensor off though, couldn't control anything.
 
Got this myself yesterday. Played through the first chapter and found it to be brilliant. Cannot wait to get home from work now and finish the game off over the weekend.

First game I have played in a long time (since Company of Heroes) where time seemed to standstill. Totally engrossing.

Best game on the PS3 by far.

GoW has been used before God of War too.
It's inconvenient, but I don't mind it being used for either, it's quite clear which is used for which in 9/10 cases.

Gears of War is a bigger release than God of War anyway, so if it were to be used for either, it should be Gears.

On other discussion forums I've seen, people use GoW and GeOW to differentate the two.
