**** Official Infamous: Second Son ****

Was really looking forward to this game but I may hold off now, looks like it would be a good rental game for the eye candy etc but looks like it won't keep me hooked, roll on watch dogs I hope that isn't a let down
 
I would await other peoples opinions as well. I am a bit of a grumpy old git so you might like it. For me it just bores me senseless.
 
Watching the vid, a lot of that doesn't bother me, the bushes and stuff. But the puddles... the puddles are definitely bothering me haha. I'm waiting for ripples, splashes, anything, but it never comes :<
 
Nitpicking? You think that because it looks pretty we shouldn't be disappointed that it's basically Infamous 2 HD? We all berate COD for doing the same each year so not sure why we can't expect a bit more.

It looks like a decent enough game but it's not justifying the hype.

I think if you take your baseline as Infamous 2 - the few things you mention that do happen in this one, didnt in the previous game. Just think its a stretch to compare it to GTA5, purely because thats what Rockstar could do with the previous gen.

Love every game post GTA5 to stand up to that, I just know it isnt going to happen, but Im sure it could with the same level of commitment shown by Rockstar...

I did not compare it to GTA 5 just mentioned that I was playing it a lot prior to this hence that having some of the best environment interaction and this having pretty much nothing makes it stand out.

I notice things like this and they annoy me. This is next gen I want water to ripple when you walk through, Bushes to move, bins to fall over and spill rubbish not just stop the player dead. It makes the game world feel fake and unnatural and takes away the immersion.

But as I said this is my opinion and soon others that have played may love it and have nothing but praise. I personally hate GTA V as a game I cannot stand all the gangster rubbish and swearing but the core mechanics of the game are superb.

TBH my earlier post wasnt directed at you, more than understand if a gameplay mechanic or a performance issue puts you off. I just know some with just run with your points, yet wouldnt apply the same mentality to other games for some strange reason.

Its always the same with exclusives and its normally the same people...

EDIT: Just noticed your update, honestly power isnt the question when considering going to go down to that kind of minutiae - its more if the developer wants it, especially if its incidental or not. Going 'next-gen' really doesnt change that mentality overnight, especially when its effort not all gamers will percieve or appreciate.

Well I'm rather enjoying it. The only thing that is bugging me a bit is that it just doesn't feel as smooth as the other games. The controls almost feel a bit jerky but perhaps that's all in my head.
It looks sumptuous and it is classic infamous gameplay.
 
I really wouldn't cancel your order or not try it based on a few opinions... try it for yourself..It looks as good as the old infamous games to me which I loved and the fact it looks stunning doesn't hurt. From the streams iv watched a lot of people seem to love it and for me personally I haven't touched my PS4 since the beginning of January and can't wait to try this. I love that there adding like 19 new missions for free in a day one patch... 5 hours of content so they say as it did seem a little short.
