I used to get my i920 upto 4ghz, but 3.5ghz is my usable speed since i moved to the more enclosed r4 case.

That's a damn good chip. Mine was only 3.96GHz @ 1.36v~ it was a bad C0

I really want to upgrade but tbh I'm not seeing anything great with these 4770k chips. I'm still running a 2500k and tbh for gaming it does a great job but the itch is getting a pain to scratch....

Not too sure what to do now. My i7 920 is a decent one and happily runs at 4.2GHz with HT enabled (4.4GHz with HT off on benchmarking runs) with reasonable voltages and temps but was really hoping for a bit better from Haswell. Still tempted to upgrade though even though overclocking looks pretty poor as it'll still be around twice as quick at around 4.5GHz from what i can gather in single threaded performance...does that sound about right? Plus lower power draw, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0 make it a bit more appealing.

I'm pretty settled on moving from [email protected] to Haswell. I'll get new components, usb3, sata3 and less case heat...all while using much less power.

Nope, only affects a few USB 3 memory sticks if your mobo goes into standby mode, and unplugging and plugging them back in fixes it. Hardly the potential deal breaker we saw with B2 revisions and SB.

Some boards come with USB hubs that aren't affected I think.
