***Official Ivybridge Overclock Thread***

Can I just ask how do you go about enabling power saving mode?

I've got my chip at 1.295v @ 4.6Ghz and cpu-z always shows it on max volts, except when I stress it and it drops to 1.285 :o

Where abouts in the bios do I adjust to enable idle volts mode when cpu is idle?

^Bump

Still looking to find out how to lower my cpu core voltage when it is idle mode. I've got the c3/c9 state thingys enabled and the frequency drops to 1600Mhz but in cpu-z the core volts still shows as max. Temps plummet to like 20-30c, so does this mean it's not pulling as much juice and I shouldn't worry?

double post my boo any how removed heat spreader as soon as chip arrived replaced the super tim Intel fitted with some arctic silver 5 took all of 10 mins to do. Temps seem ok at lower clocks but when I try 4.8 .4.9 & golden 5 GHz I might as well crack out the frying pan and cook some sausages.

Dam hot even under water if I had proper access to a workshop id just machine a copper shim to fit flush with the Cpu surprised no one as already done it

so @ 4.7 @ 1.226V hitting 72C max

u need to have your c1 state on as well

They're all enabled in that section of the BIOS

Hey all, I was wondering if you could offer me some advice. I've got a 3570K and an Asus Maximus V Gene and looking at this thread it seems that my chip needs huge amounts of voltage compared to other 3570Ks.

The lowest voltage that I've been able to Prime at 4.4 for an extended period is 1.285V, using 1.5V PLL, Ultra High LLC and 120% Current Capability. This ran AVX small FFTs for around 3 hours with no problems so I decided to push further.

Trying to crack 4.5GHz is proving difficult. I'm currently Priming 4.5GHz with 1.31 VCore and 1.5V PLL using Extreme LLC and 140% Current Capability. This seems stable (so far, about 30 minutes), but I'm concerned about the voltage that Extreme LLC is pushing through the CPU. CPU-Z is reporting 1.344V with the occasional flicker to 1.352V - this seems crazy high compared to other voltages reported in this thread for 4.5GHz overclocks. The temperatures aren't bad, the max I'm getting is 77C with an average of 73C. EDIT: That must have been larger FFTs, with an 8K FFT length I'm getting 85C max.

Should I be worried about these voltage readings? I don't plan on replacing this machine for a good 3-4 years, so should I drop down to something more conservative? Also, any hints on settings that might enable the chip to stay stable at lower volts? I like to have the setting enabled where the multiplier drops when the CPU isn't under load, but I'm unsure whether there are some other settings that I can disable which might help.

Cheers!
