****Official L.A Noire thread****

The film reels are a pain in the rectum, definitely need a guide to find them all. I found one during my story play through

I only found one, in quite a cool area that seemed to have a military training course, firing range and a race track/test track. Why stuff like that is there but not actually used in the game, I have no idea - such a waste.

Getting pretty sick of this game, on the case with that McCaffrey bloke and so far 0/7 questions asked correctly. I mean sometimes the guy you're talking to maintains normal eye contact and has no untoward body movements yet you're still supposed to doubt him? :p

I also don't find the story particularly interesting and the repetetive wandering around crime scenes listening out for a chime has gotten tiresome.

Will stick this on the bay I think.

Yea I'm finding it a bit annoying and repetitive as well. The facial animations are great, but I agree, sometimes when there is nothing to suggest they are lying, you get it wrong because you select 'Truth'.

I want to throw the controller at the screen each time I hear the music when you select the wrong answer.

Didn't realise there was another DLC case coming out for this, was under the impression that the previous one would be the final one.

Not that it matters, seeing as I put it in the post to Amazon trade-in this morning anyway. :p

The truth/doubt/lie thing is annoying. Every now and then I totally ace it, and other times I just suck. You should only choose lie if you have evidence for it, but sometimes the evidence seems like quite a leap. Doubt can mean you think they're lying but can't prove it, or that they're just looking shifty, but that can be really subtle.

The implementation of the facial expressions sadly doesn't correlate 100% of the time and is a bit of a game breaker, still I hope the technology is picked up on and honed to perfection as I think it has scope to be awesome

Tell me about it. I'm trying to get those G's for getting all lines of questioning correct :D

There is?

So it seems, I haven't looked myself:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-07-27-eu-playstation-store-update-13th-july

European PS3 gamers can finally download L.A. Noire's PlayStation 3-exclusive Traffic case "The Consul's Car". In North America it came as a free download with PS3 copies of the game. In Europe, you'll have to pay £3.19. Xbox 360 owners will never get this add-on.

No idea if it's included in the Rockstar Pass or not.

Been playing threw this and so far its a buggy piece of crap that had so much promise and let down by a utter rubbish execution.
Characters get stuck you cant charge the right person with the crime when given the choice even though you get all answers and clues right. Replayed the damn case 3 times and still the same crap.

Utter joke

Team Bondi have gone into administration:

Despite (finally) shipping a successful product, it seems allegations of shoddy work practices and claims that no major publisher would work with the team has brought about the end of LA Noire developers Team Bondi.

A report on Australian business site Smart Company, citing Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents, says that the developers have been placed into administration. While this isn't the death of Team Bondi, as it could still be sold or merged or otherwise dealt with by administrators, it doesn't look good that Smart Company called TB's studio this morning and was told "the company was no longer located there".

Team Bondi was founded in 2003, and in that time released just one game, LA Noire. Which was pretty good, and sold pretty well, but as this administration shows, there's more to making games than selling games. Taking too long to make them and treating your staff like **** will bring you down just as easily as making terrible games will.

Couldn't happen to anicer bunch of ***** from what I've read about them.

Hopefully someone will buy the IP and use it to build a game that actually has a compelling storyline.

Read that today, too bad, but as said above, they seemed like monsters to work for.

Hopefully someone uses the tech to make an awesome game.
