Official Microsoft fix for 8.1 mouse lag issues

And this is the 8.1 release lol.. so bad

its not even a complete FIX, you will still have to manually add many other games to the registry so they aren't crippled.

Did anyone else try Mouserate.exe

Seems 8.1 has my mouse locked under 200hz, where as on Windows 7 & 8 it was 1000. Games that use Raw Mouse Input are fine, but most games will be stuck at 200 right?

Manually adding the mouserate.exe to the registry, as per MS guide allows it to show 1000, but am I expected to do this to every game I play? Surely a more perm fix can be applied that coves everything.

Where it says in the Microsoft article, "Specifically, do not apply the registry key mechanism to long-running background and notification area processes.", do the exact opposite :D. Add something like explorer.exe, and you're set. I'd been thinking it might work, and many people had been suggesting it since last month. Only just tried it, and now WM_MOUSEMOVE monitoring programs report 1000hz, as they would have done in Windows 7 & 8.
