***Official*** MM8 11th April (sponsored by the HSE)

I'll gladly clean mine if there's any chance of me making it! Dropping it off at 8am tomorrow. If it's a parts job, rather than a software one, I'm going to be so angry.

7/8 months of trouble-free motoring, then I take it to BMW for its Inspection II. A week later it requires a replacement airbag control unit. 4 days after it comes back from that, it develops this electrical problem with the gearbox. They tried to tell me they didn't cause the last one - that excuse isn't going to fly this time round.

reckon i should find an L and change the badge ? :D

with your driving this L will go down fine

My car is smoking oil quite a bit now on start up :( I've been told its the turbo seals weeping because of the cat back exhaust. Would it be worth trying a thicker oil? I currently have 0w40 in and I'm thinking about going to 5w40.

A free flowing exhaust will reduce back pressure and allow oil seals to weep, but I wouldn't expect it to happen on such a new car. Thicker oil may help slightly but you're looking at a turbo rebuild to cure it properly.

Feel for u princey. Never had one nicked, but then I never drive anything worth nicking....

I won't be along I'm afraid - I'll be playing Taxi for 4 to a family meal out do, somewhere near Chorley. (my car is the best out of 3 for taking 5 people)

Hopefully there'll be another North Yorks meet later on that I can get to - I'll even arrange the time/date myself if needs be!

Ouch :(

Is the main drive after the meal? There's a long and convoluted story involving my car's problems and my re-arranged weekend plans that mean I can probably arrive for about 1.30 when you're finishing the food.

OK, it'll be tight, but stick me down for an appearance at 1.30 or just after. I'll get someone like Tom's number who I've got on facebook and text with a better idea once I've set off.
