CPU Base Frequency needs to be retyped as 10000, this will then set the Bus Speed to exactly 100.0 MHz in CPU-Z, it will keep as this all the time then, unless you load defaults.

Internal PLL Overvoltage = [Enabled] (default should be 1.8v, I woudn't bother increasing it.)
CPU Core Vdroop offset Control = [+100%]
EIST = [Disabled]
Eup 2013 = [Disabled]
CPU Phase Control = [Auto]
C1E Support = [Disabled]
Intel C-State = [Disabled]

Nice, mine should be here in an hour or two, I've got a few more bits to buybut all the main things I have, hopefully will have it setup later tonight.

Looking good there Nickolp1974, I know my 2500K will do 4.9GHz on Air in my MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) and Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H - virtually same voltages, will be shocked if I can do more, will have mine setup tonight, just doing backups. :)

Will be getting some better ram for this rig, not sure what I'm going for.

@nelly, you may want to add the HP usb disk format utillity to your first post as i could not flash bios without it when using the msiHQ forum tool
Good idea, I'll add it, its a good option, used to use it all the time to flash my old Abit IP35 Pro. If that doesn't work, I'll have to dig out my floppy drive I think lol.

It could be a problem with the MSI tool and the board, that Svet on the MSI forums updates the program every now and again, if their is any issues. I think he's Russian and it just so happens the guy who does the MSI After Burrner is Russian too I think, wonder if it's the same guy lol.

How are you getting on with the board nelly?? Clocks?
I'm so slow...:( but...new system is up and running as of tonight! :) just updating Windows 7, will post clocks asap, I'm quite used to MSI UEFI Bios, so won't be long.

The motherboard came with Bios 17.2, but will use the latest beta, no bugs so far and the bios seems a lot more stable than when I used the MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3). :)

Using a 2500K for the moment, 3570K is still in the post, I coudn't wait any longer lol. :)

Well.. upto last night EIST isn't working on 17.2 / 17.3 and upto beta H:45 bios, that is the multi/clockspeed won't lower to multi x 16.

EDIT: Bug with beta versions of CPU-Z 1.61.4 to 1.61.7, so use the latest official which is 1.61.3, CPU-Z beta needs fixing that's all. :)

Will overclock later this evening.

First settings I tried and I'm suprised... it's looking good so far :) need to prime, this is using the latest H:45 Beta Bios from yesterday.

Will update this when I've checked voltages with multimeter. Settings to add, but LLC was set to 100% and it works damn well with this MSI board, makes a change lol. :)

Guess you will be keeping it then?
lol, I've ordered a Gigabyte Z77X-UP5 TH anyway, not sure when it will arrive, could be a month, I can't say anything else but it's worth the wait... lol

It's better than I expected, those review sites use pre-release BIOS, mine came with 17.2 and I saw review sites using prior 17.1 or prior, so I'm sure they have improved things, apparently the later betas have improved memory clocks, but I need new sticks to test. :(

Can you post screens of all your bios settings, p p p please
Sorry for delay, these are current settings I've used.

EIST = [Disabled]
Eup 2013 = [Disabled]
CPU Phase Control = [Auto]
C1E Support = [Disabled]
Intel C-State = [Disabled]

Hi Nelly I see by your Sig that you have both the Mpower & the Silver Arrow are there any compatability issues other than the First PCIe X1 slot thanks in advance Beebee

PS & which slot are you using for the Xfi? Thnx beebee
It will fit into PCIe X1 slot, but it's a tight fit, best off using PCIe X1 4 or 6, that's what I'm using, don't bother using spare graphics card slots as it will lower your PCIe from x16 to x8, not that it makes a big difference.

Nelly does the above official contain all the latest beta updates??
H:51 will for sure because it's the start of what will be the 17.5 release.

I've been playing around with more clocks, this time clocking using Auto Voltage with various amounts of Vdroop offset, working quite well. I will post back later with results.

I am looking to buy an Ivy bridge i7 and a new motherboard in the next few days, would owners of this board say they were happy with it, or given the opportunity would they buy something else instead?
I am happy with it. It's a far superior board compared to the MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3), you get quite a few good features with this board for the price, the only thing missing is Voltage Offset, but that depends on how you want to overclock.

MSI boards are so simple to overclock and get stable, which I think is a good thing if you don't want to spend hours/days tweaking and just jump straight into gaming etc.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I've currently got my 2500K now on Auto Voltage with power saving features clocked at 4.8GHz, the vcore is at 1.31v (1.32v real) using 12.5% Vdroop, I will post screenshots later.

That's the good thing about lowering the Vdroop if you have a high VID like mine, which is 1.411v @ 4.8GHz, but only needs around 1.3v (1.31v real) in BIOS to be stable.

I think the majority of Ivybridge have a really low VID i.e. <1.2v> you cannot increase Vdroop above 100%, this is when Voltage Offset would be required which the board doesn't have, you could then increase the offset to match the VID required at higher clocks. Obviously it doesn't matter if your using Manual Voltage to overclock because you can choose whatever voltage, I prefer power saving using auto voltage with voltage offsets.

New H:53 beta bios, as of today, also included what was updated in H:52 beta.
NOTE: Make sure you unplug your PSU from A/C power and properly >>Clear CMOS Guide<< after flashing.
