Played a bit of Pikmin 3 with the kids over the weekend, multiplayer and some of the main game. It's actually really addictive. I am surprised the Wii U isn't more popular tbh. It's awesome lol.

Really wish I bought the Zelda Bundle now, I'm kind of loathed to pay more than £200 for one now I know it's been that price once!

Well after interviewing for a new job, going for a second interview and getting it. Then visiting the new area to find a flat a couple of times, then 1 falling through then processing the next one. Then arranging a removal company I can now...

Unwrap my Day 1 Wind Waker disk!!!! I think I may start the adventure tonight!

If I am honest from first impressions the main thing that stood out was the gamepad screen is a little disappointing, considering it was the "big thing" with the Wii U the screen quality is a bit lacking, has a bit of a fuzz about it, like the screen cover isn't perfectly clear but made of some cheap hazy plastic, is this normal, do I have a defective gamepad or have I simply spent too much time on a Vita?

However luckily most of last night was spent playing Wind Waker on my TV which is a 50" Panasonic GT50 and it looked fantastic so I quickly forgot my gamepad grumbles.

hi fellas

I bought a wii U for my kids last Christmas. Along with the mario game and the nintendo game with lots of mini games.. Anyway, kids have absolutely NO interest in the thing. They may of put prob MAX 50hrs into the thing when it first got here, but nothing like their other consoles.. Which get regular use.

Anyway, my question is, is anything happening out there on the horizon? (sorry don't follow what's going on)

I have a PS4 arriving in a couple of weeks, and i do have an xboxONE on pre-order. (which i was going to cancel) cos i don't want to run with two subs every yr. Should i just get rid of the WiiU now while i still can? is there any hope for it? or are things set to turn around in the not so distant future? like a top notch mario kart game? I figure i could sell the WiiU and one of their PS3's, which will pretty much nearly buy me another PS4. So i could have two ps4's and take advantage of multiplayer.

The gamepad runs at SD Resolutions and isnt the best quality yes, but its good enough for what its intended to be used for - and tbh SD resolutions look fine on such a small screen when I have to use off screen play (curse you Soaps)

Ooooft doc you're out the loop aren't you?! :p I jest, I jest!

Things have gotten a lot better for Wii U with some quality titles having been released over the previous few months and many to come :D

Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends and the W101 came out which are all fantastic titles, and all a bit different from each other.

Wind Waker was released which is a beautiful and refined experience on Wii U.

Super Mario 3D World which looks astoundingly good from it's most recent trailers have caught everyone's attention recently and definitely shows the Wii U is a powerful console and capable of fun games.

Donkey Kong is Feb 2014
Mario Kart is March/April 2014
Smash Bros anytime after that...

Life in the console yet...don't you worry! (Really only the 1st party games I've mentioned as upcoming though).

deus ex hr

The Wii U version of Deus Ex: HR is a good upgrade port for anyone that my be considering it.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes RPG/FPS/Stealth type games.
It is much cheaper and will obviously look better on PC, so if it's an option and you're more a desktop gamer then it's the better choice. GamePad integration on Wii U is good though.

I'm tempted to pick it up mate, enjoyed the game a lot on my PC run through but the gamepad integration makes it the best version according to IGN...enough to sway me but a lot left to play before I consider it :P

Been watching some Super Mario 3D world stuff this morning - my god how good does it look? Looks absolutely beautiful. Just goes to show power isnt everything.

I don't like the Zelda game pad either, the tacky patterns around the sides make it look crap.

Not a bad deal though, just a shame about the pad, cant ignore that. :p

I have the Zelda gamepad, I quite like the patterns, I am just really struggling with the screen quality on the gamepad, now it is absolutely fine when just using it as a second screen for menu's etc, but when I need to relinquish the TV to the other half and play the full game on the gamepad it really annoys me that it looks like I am playing on a fuzzy screen.

I should point out when I say fuzzy I am not referring to the resolution, I am talking about a haze that seems to be from a low quality cover, maybe I need to get into somewhere with a WiiU setup and see if my gamepad has a dodgy screen.
