Server difficulty will be set to normal as of the next restart.

I've also seen the recent beta release of Bukkit. I'll be putting it on our test server in the next couple of days but I don't have high hopes for everything we need working with it out of the box (changes to API).

I can just 180 the face and put the snow ball going the otherway as well. Probably easier and the zombie wont have to be stood on my house then.

The level used to enchant is irrelevant afterwards really. I.e. you could use 25xp to get fortune 2 or 40xp.

I've just been reading the Enchantment wiki article, and it would appear that the higher the XP level, the more chance of getting multiple enchantments on an item. Something I didn't know, so I've edited my original post .

I had a silk touch axe. Just what you need for collecting logs.

But it did also work on glass, glowstone and foliage nicely.

Yeah I raged at first when I spent all that XP on an axe just to get silk touch, then after I thought about it it turned out to be quite useful.

You are able to download most of the past releases and play them.

Select Options > Click JAR Downloader > Select Minecraft Final 1.1 on the drop down list. It downloads and installs it for you.
