Unless things have changed i will chect now.
Yes point deducted for not useing every block
but if you are creative with some things then point will be awarded
 
There will be the standard player voting going on as always but admin votes will count for more. We will be judging this on creativity, looks, originality and use of blocks. If all the of the blocks aren't use some points will be deducted, it's won't be a 1-1 point removal but the more blocks you use the more likely you are to gain the Admin's votes :D

On another not some of the upcoming events won't be run this weekend (Team Survival and Race) as both Yrthilian and Safron are busy this weekend so we won't have time to setup the needed play spaces for these. But don't fret as I'm still around and will be running the CTF event (if the arena gets done) and hopefully something else ;)

Full details on these will be on the Linktart website plus the forums later today.

Anyone up for some 1.2 testing soon?

Myself and Maxi have found alternative plugins or workarounds for a lot of the issues. There are still a few bugs to iron out but it's looking a lot more promising than it was 24 hours ago.

Cool. The test server is actually open now but there are still config changes to be made before I announce general testing. If you want somewhere to play though, the details are the same as last time :)

This is how the arena stands at the minute, this is the work of three peoples evening all of which have managed to do a Team Build aswell, and work on their own projects. All of which seen in the picture has been completed using raw materials all of which have been mined over the last week.

Just think what "we" as a "community" could acheive in a short period of time using each and everyone of your skills, minds, and personal touches.

An example of what "Teamwork" can acheive

Not being funny, but most of that was there when i last looked on sunday, in fact the only difference i see is the obsidi /lava! :O - and the lack of that observation platform! (just being silly ^^)
 
I believe that is because there has been a lack of interest from the community which is a shame :(

Hunter is just trying to gather some interest to get more than 2-3 people involved. We ran this event due to the week before everyone was talking about community builds in this very thread so I would have thought a few people would have worked on this from the get go. I'm not trying to get the Admin's involved at all with this the event is aimed at you guys and your teamwork :D

So go make me proud by finishing the arena!

I started work on the 2v2 arena last night which is nearby the CTF community build arena along with a little testing so that should still be good for Sunday!

The team build contest finished last night but the winner won't be decided until Saturday evening so be sure to go check out the builds by the portal at spawn and vote on your favourite one by placing a sign with your name on in front of your chosen build!

Obsidian takes a good while to mine, aire and i must have spent at least 30-45mins mining it lasting.

A lot of work has gone on below to tidy up redstone circuits to allow for the rerouting of paths which the players drop into.

The viewing platform (not the ring at the top) was started try to get it started in the hope of other players to continue on.


But as maxi pointed out it was simply posted to gain more interest. But also think if morepeople checked this thread and linktart more regulary we wouldn't have this problem.

I think the issue is if people start adding to the community project build other people will try and control them/or tell them what they need to build.

Quote me if im wrong.

i myself have been quite busy on SDK hammer making maps, so my time has been very limited this week.

however i think EVERYONE needs to gather idea's together of how they want to build to look.

At the moment looking at the pics not much has been done accept for the 3 people who spend time doing part of this build.

Questions.

.what do we want the build to look like? castle,fortress ect....
.Are we allowed to add to the build what ever we can think of? i can see a lot of potential here but it means changes to having a flat roof.

Hunter P, on the pic please could you point out the entrance?

I will start to build from there, but what i need to know is what kind of theme are we going for, i was thinking medieval type build with long towers to the entrance, with a big iron gate.

It lava themed so castle fortress would work well. And yes add what you wish. No mention of a flat roof so build away if needs be extend beyond the shell if necessary
