OK, got XP installed and now stress testing at stock, on the stock cooler (a nasty small aluminium thing). Coretemp doesn't work and I think it's the top Temp1 that is the socket temp (peaked at 57C so far).

Is 1.25V the default voltage, can't find any information to confirm it?

I'm using an original AM2 Asus M2N32-SLI board that I've had since AM2 came out, with the latest BIOS release (only one that worked).

That's is as low as it'll go at stock, not sure if it's my board as it'll pass at a lower voltage but won't boot at the same voltage setting afterwards.

Interesting stuff mate. Take it you're not sticking with the stock cooler?
Keep us up to date on what you can clock it to bud, very interested in seeing what it can do.

Shame the mobo has hit a wall would have been nice to see how far these can go.
Are you planning on getting a newer mobo?

Not going to bother, as for now it doesn't come anywhere close to an equivalently priced Intel setup.

Hmm not trying to have a go, but why bother trying at all then if you were not going to push it further? Seems a bit daft "Official Phenom Overclocking Thread" but the mobo used is rubbish.

Because other people can also post their results.

Additionally my results can give people an idea of what to expect when overclocking them on an old board.

Lets not start bashing the overclocking thread here. Was a good attempt and is a fair point he doesnt have to go out and buy the very latest bored.

Someone who just has can post up the results and move it along that way.

Nice one jokester hopefully they can get a bit more poke out of these.

Jokester how about doing a SuperPI and match it against an equivalent Q6600 at 2.5Ghz? I'd be really interested to see how these stack up mhz to mhz against the intel quad cores.

Well I have 18s 1M Spi on my 2mb cache E6300 @ 3.15.

I don't think my E6300 at stock was as slow as that phenom! Do they just not like Super Pi?
