Had some really good battles on EU01 last night, I like fighting for the underdog so am on the VS side and we made some really good pushes and took the crown in the centre of the map when the TR ground forces and NC airforce bogged us down.

Nothing like manning an AA gun at night and filling the air with purple tracer fire.

I noticed that in the evening the VS had a huge part of the right hand side nearly up to the NC base which was very surprising since they had around 27% pop compared to the others, i think it was because NC and TR were busy duking it out in near the north west bio lab.

Then again the TR gate is just full of afkers.

We VS are a sneaky bunch but on Saturday night on EU1 we only had 25% of the pop but we had all the right hand side of the map at one point and TR only had 4 hexs..

Haha Jongo I thought I recognised that name i ran in to you a few times last night i think its 2-1 to you currently, you ended a couple of very good kill streaks i had going on 17 at one point, was some mad fight between seabed and west highlands. I'm Hazy01 on NC.

Although I did find last night was having real issues with draw distance, people would just disappear, was fine the night before but it seemed much more populated last night.
 
been having some great fights on EU2, as NC. Was part of a 2/3 gal squad with 3 reavers and 1 liberator and managed to take a lot of territory back from the TR who had got all the way up to our warpgate however while we were taking the west side of the map the vs took the entire east side.

Loving this game cant wait to get 10 more cert points to finally get flares, i bet they are bugged though
 
Never been really been interested in this game before because from the pictures it looked abit like halo which is a big no no for me but after watching some videos of gameplay with people explaining the game i really want to give it a try so signed up last night not expecting to get a beta key but to keep up on the newsletters.

Excellent i will make a note of your name so i know if i kill you again :D, the fights at the west highlands and the seabeds are fantastic although the NC eventually push us out with air dominance.

Don't get the flares they have a 1 minute timer on them people have said which makes them worthless.

It's a 30 second timer, not 1 minute. That's on the mosquito, so I assume it'll be the same for all 3 factions.

They are still a waste though, I have A2A missiles on my mossie (which are the ONLY decent AA option available at the moment that can reliably shoo down other aircraft quickly) and flares don't bother me, just takes 1 extra rocket to kill. :D
 
Flares are by no means a waste, I've managed to escape the evil clutches of Tomcat whores what feels like 70% of the time since they were released.
I find coming to a stop as quickly as possible the second the lock starts, swing around and fire the flares at the very last millisecond works very well - if you turned to face him in time you'll be able to start unloading with your machine gun before he does, or he'll zip past you and you now have his tail to gun down.
 
I just dont understand the damage model in this game. In other games you know exactly how many bullets it takes to kill someone and how much damage your shots will have done, but in this you empty a clip into someone only to be killed by them and then be presented with the kill screen informing you that all you really did was take off half their shield. It makes absolutely no sense.
