I also need an outfit, I also need to read up and find out what the objectives are I am only 3 days in and have lvl 4 NC Char.
 
In order to progress Beta testing, during our update later this week all character data including names will be wiped. Please keep in mind this will not be the final wipe in the testing process.

We also have exciting news! All available servers will be been given new names which will feel more appropriate for the PlanetSide universe.

I used to quite enjoy myself playing solo in PS, especially as infiltrator and engineer.. hacking some remote base and then setting up a crap load of deployables, and also in huge fights keeping the fixed guns up, and slowing enemy advances with mines, turrets an motion detectors. It is good to play as intended though and get some squad action going too. But so far in Beta I havent done any of that, and hacking isnt implemented and mines dont work.. lol

I love this game, chose vanu because I thought they were the underdogs and its seems they are indeed. Just need an outfit, although last 2 days I've been in a platoon which had very good teamwork. Just gotta get lucky you drop on a squad using coms and has someone leading.

If I can't get a decent squad I tend to just play with vehicles and stuff or infiltrater.
 
A friend gave me a beta key for this last night, I've downloaded it but it wants me to pick a faction. Do you get the choice every time you log in, I want to play but I'm not sure what faction he's on, so I don't want to end up on a different one to him.

You can create a character for each faction on one server so you're never tied to just one faction. You can also create further characters on another server.
 
Does anyone have that noob chart that was posted a while ago? been through the thread twice and cant find the *****r.

Embarassingly ive been playing for a week now without joining up even with randoms. Just never occurred to me to try. Only now getting my head around certs, just in time for a wipe!

Seriously considering the alpha thingy for the 10% boost, ill play enough to justify it i think. Anyone know if you get any of the benefits of alpha (wep unlocks specifically and the credits) during beta?
 
Is this down right now? i havent played for a week or so, downloaded a huge patch and now cant ge the client to launch it just says starting the game then boots me back to desktop
 
there is an issue on the forums after the last patch - some find disabling avast (or the longer process of excepting the ps2 executable) works for them.
 
What should I be spending my cert points on ? Any guides or advice on them, can't seem to find anything. Going have to practice some flying tonight, do people use mouse and keyboard or are the better pilots on pads or joysticks?

Something quickly, there is a character wipe in the next few days.
 
I've just jumped into the beta on EU1. Is there an OcUK clan/outfit going I can join? I went NC but can swap if needed.

Loving this game. Joined a squad of randoms last night and we jumped around from base to base using a Galaxy to touch down on rooftops. It felt so epic and ended with a climatic battle with our squad eventually going our separate ways once the NC momentum was lost.
 
been playing it a while now but... how the hell do i get more cert seems to go up very slow been capping loads of bases :-?
