Game is fun but be aware cert gain is ramped to insane (took me three days to get 30 certs before, now you get 3000 in a day, even when youre offline) so you can kit out a class in about a day for the certs. Buying stuff is still at the same level. That means if youre new youre going up against people who will have bought every perk under the sun, could be tough.

They will get certs soon enough and it's all getting wiped again this friday anyway with certs going back to super slow mode.

I think it's worth it. I haven't found any bugs yet, but people have said about getting stuck sometimes.

I dont really know much about it tbh, looks a lot like Halo.

Is it basically just death match style games on a massive planet map?

Not really, it's more like Battlefield but it's a lot bigger and a constant war, you're trying to hold your ground while taking the other 2 armies ground basically, currently there's only 1 continent but I believe on release there's going to be 3 or 4 with them hoping to expand back to the 10 or so they had in the original. All continents have different types of terrain and will suit different styles of fighting. It's an MMOFPS basically, it's brilliant if you like FPS games and MMOs, as it'll combine both and give you the character progression of an RPG but with the skill elements of an FPS.

Pretty much at the moment, but there is a certain degree of strategy in that you have to capture and hold areas. A well placed spawn point for instance is crucial in an attack, enough armor support to couteract theirs, but its all pretty happens without any coordination at the moment, theres no global comms, just things start building up around an attack or defence almost by accident. Ive joined a couple of pick up squads but it doesnt seem to be that much different to being a lone wolf as in the really big battles you have no idea what your team mates are doing. This might be different in an ocuk clan on clearer comms like TS.

As for bugs, theres still a lot that needs to be ironed out. random crashes (my client crashed 3 times last night after not having had an issue for a month), disappearing textures, my optic attachment disappears every time i swap guns, damaged tanks sometimes randomly explode when you exit etc., falling through worlds, theyll be sorted out by launch.

There are some really epic moments in this game, a mass attack on a well defended base can really have the end result of some huge pitched battles and are very addictive. Last night we must have had a couple of hundred players attacking another couple of hundred players with no lag at all. Standing on a ridge line with thirty or so TR, firing rockets at a horde of VS tanks coming at us... Great fun being had, but Id like to see the strategy aspect soon, currently its just a constantly fluctuating map.

Guys,

if you're desperate to play it, and you'e not having much luck getting a key via Twitter, why don't you just buy the Alpha Squad Pack for $40?

It's well worth the money.

Was going to do this myself.

Does this include the game when its released? Or is it purely F2P anyway?

f2p.

It's a great game but 100% better when playing in a squad with a leader who knows what he's doing. A squad without focus is just solo with green dots on your screen.

I've joined www.brtd.net, seem like a nice bunch and been in some very nice big battles with them, I've witnessed 40+ members, 4 squads, working to take points, very fun.

Even if you don't join a clan/unit, just keep joining squads till you find a good one with a good leader and focus, really makes the game.

Only bug I have found about 3 times is when in a firefight my health will go to zero but I'm still alive but can't be killed and i can't kill enermy, I have to relog, bit of a pain but only seems to happen once per session if it does.

The main bugs I've encountered are scopes and crosshairs disappearing, unable to select any weapon and when zooming in and out with the mouse wheel either crashes my game or I lose sound.

Haha yea only happened 3 times in 5 hours of playing. Suicide in the command box usually fixes it. The most annoying one is zooming on the map though. Strangely it's only when using the mouse wheel, not when clicking zoom in/out manually
