In that new map video the rocket locked on, can you lock on to vehicles with heavy assault rocket launcher?

I've never tried to.

I've never tried to.

At the moment there are 3 heavy assault only rocket launchers,

The default version is dumb fire, no lock on.

The Skep (TR version at least) is a ground target lock on rocket launcher

The grounder (TR version at least) is a ground to air lock on rocket launcher.

Each faction has access to a dumb fire, ground to ground and ground to air rocket launcher which costs cert points.

FYI the ground lock on launchers are essential imo! The dumb fire launchers are good at short range, but if you want to engage armor at mid to long range, or just chase tanks away then the lock on is excellent.

While I am happy they have now announced the release date, I am quite worried about the workload they have set themselves. They still havn't fully implemented the metagame if at all really, weapon balancing still needs a long look at in some cases, platoons and outfits still need work along with the mission system to guide people.

Its going to be a tough slog for the devs at SOE I think, but from the way the beta has been advancing and how they have listened to feedback i do have a lot of faith in them.

Whats everyone else's thoughts on it?

Even the late December release date pegged earlier seemed a bit of a stretch... but I'm sure if they can get the 3rd continent in, continent locking and the other changes smed and higby posted about the other day in regards to base capture mechanics it could definitely be worthy of a release.

With how much they change as well as how quickly they change it I doubt what we will be playing a year from now will remotely resemble what gets released now, next month or several months from now. So ultimately my thoughts are: whatevs.

Thanks for that mate, very helpful. I shall have to get the skep then, sounds good, can you still dumb fire it? for use against humans, I've not really thought about it more then aiming, but whats the splash damage like or is it purely armour?

My thoughts are exactly what you just said. They made the massive post about the amount of work they're going to be putting into the meta game.
Cert balance and resources still feel a long way off.
They seem to have really set a tough deadline.

Yeah you can still dumb fire, it is a one hit kill I think if you hit an infantry. Splash is minimal though.

anyone got a list of the current cert costs? seems i can get about 30 certs a night playing, until i can get store credit and just buy the stuff i want.

I want to know when there going to stop wiping my damn char, seems little point building up a good char at the moment for them to wipe it before launch !!!

I'm hoping for another before launch, the last reset was such a false start. But not even from a testing standpoint but a player standpoint; I want to better establish an initial game plan for launch - the more resets the better for that.

I had a quick blast on this thanks to Murray, and was absolutley bewildered....didnt have a clue what was going on lol...saw a couple people and got a couple kills, i hope the full game comes with a tutorial lol

Cheers for letting me know it was a beta i had no clue ...

I understand why they do it was just wondering if anyone knew when they would be stopping so i can concentrate on building up a decent char ...

and before anyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon

ITS A BETA

Not sure I understand Sam? As soon as Beta ends they wipe the servers, the first point you'll be able to then start a new fresh character will be when it goes live.

Beta isn't here for us to build up a good character, that's what launch is for, so until launch all your progress and play time = zero.
