not very tbh, ive just subbed yesterday and noticed a boost in the certs im receiving. but the game is still extremly enjoyable with all default gear and you are by no means underpowered compared to those who pay. then you will slowly but surely upgrade yourself giving yourself boosts
 
You need to pay a little or it take you forever to unlock anything and I mean forever.

Buy a few standard weapons then use your Certs to buy and upgrade your gear.

Also set your account as US so you can buy SC cash in USD instead of GBP. You save a bit of money.

Its completely worth installing to try it, you will get a perfectly good idea of how you will enjoy the game without any extra gear and in most situations your disadvantage will be minimal.
 
I have station cash, unlocks and a sub and find myself using default infantry weapons quite a bit as they really are as good as anything else available. The only place where weapon unlocks really come into their own is with aircraft as there are some awesome combinations which need hundreds of certs to unlock (average about 50certs an hour without any XP bonus).

If you prefer the ground slogger game then the default tanks and infantry load outs mean you can be useful and effective in almost any battle.

Pretty much agree with you there, other then aircraft, the default kits are pretty decent.
Can only speak for the NC there though.

I think it's fine if you don't pay. The base classes\weapons are pretty good and the unlocks for weapons come at a decent rate.

However a Bolt sniper (in my opinion) is far superior to the default... but that just might be my playstyle.

I have a bigger problem with the cert costs for non-weapon unlocks. Such minor boosts for huge costs... I feel like I need to play 24/7 to get the upgrades I want.

TR lock didn't last but a few hours lol, NC now have two continents...NC?! VS have Indar.

I unlocked level 6 medic gun, cost nearly 600 certs in total and it is a beast! Revives in 1.8 seconds to 100% health, it's an XP machine lol.

Aye we got spanked last night :( Folk got too caught up in the big Zerg and neglected parts of the front which was exploited.

Has anybody had issues with voice chat, was playing with my brother last night and couldn't get Squad voice or Proximity voice working despite both microphones definitely working.
 
i only tried voice chat once on it and was terrible. too quiet one some and too loud on others.

i would suggest getting a mumbles servers. you can get a 10 man slot for couple quid

also double xp means some bashing this week + it stacks with other bonuses.

Managed to get my weapons swapped to the correct arm on my MAX.. PHEW!!! Cost me 1000 certs to get a "Hacksaw" (Auto shotgun), so was gutted I bought it for the wrong arm initially lol. p.s. They said it was 'an exception', and they wouldn't normally do it.

NC on Woodman.. kicking ass and wasting no time to take names last night :-D

EDIT: Cool... double xp this weekend. I'll mostly be packing for my Christmas visit.. but I'll defo get some time in PS2 :-D

Anyone else noticed that the proximity voice music spam wars have now been declared on miller in NC's warpgate? I've been on three times this week and spotted a player called 'iBase' mixing it up with some interesting techno choices. People flock to him.
 
Some dude played the Mortal Kombat theme song in a full galaxy flight, **** was EPIC, "TEST YOUR MIGHT!" lol.

Anyone else having issues with daily deals showing as unavailable? I really want to buy the Burst max left arm for 350SC on daily deal but it won't let me :(
 
lol, I'm in a outfit on Miller called 252v and on Saturday someone spent all night in platoon chat playing morale boosting tracks. Was so funny knowing an entire outfit of 100+ players were all hearing the same music. Intergalactic was a highlight, had about 20 players jumping around and circle strafing.
