Is the Annhilator (sp) worth purchasing station cash for?

Also the Nighthawk... its the TR shotgun I believe.... I think id be looking at 1500 SC so that's what, 15 quid?

It's about £12, I don't have either of those weapons so can't really help you there. Lots of people in my outfit have the Annihilator... I guess it would be useful as it can lock onto tanks and air, but there are so many people with them now I never feel the lack of it. Then heavy assault isn't my main class :)

One thing to keep in mind, the patch scheduled for the end of this month will bring Empire Specific Rocket Launchers, so perhaps wait and see how they turn out before dropping station cash on the annihilator?

Also anyone know if I sub for 3 months... I get 500 SC per month it seems.

Now say I do that now, ill get 500 SC... do the months run in calendar order, ie Feb to Mar etc or will it be from say today, so my first month is 19 Feb to Mar 19 and then on Mar 20 ill get another 500. Or going on my first example ill get 500 now for Feb and then when it turns Mar 1 ill get another 500?
 
It's from the time you sub. So I did a 6-monther on 3rd of January or thereabouts, and I usually get my 500 SC about the 5th of each month, a day or two after the sub date.

Are you new to the game?

They do occasionally do triple or double station cash offers so if you see yourself playing for quite a while it's worth keeping an eye out for them. Usually these are around annual events, thanks giving, christmas etc so hopefully they'll do one around easter time.

Whilst it is tempting to buy stuff with station cash, if you're new and would rather keep expenditure to a minimum I'd say hold off a little, find the classes you enjoy the most, do some research (read guides, watch videos and trial weapons in game) on the weapons available for them, then buy the 1 or 2 that will fit your play style.

Yeah new part 2... I played in the first Beta for a fair bit and then didn't bother until recently I re-installed.

I think ill stick to Heavy Assault on TR as it suits my style... so ill hold off on the annihilator and maybe buy some cash for the Shotgun...
 
Have to agree with Buzz that Indar is the worst map ever, poorly designed in every aspect with no flow that forces everyone to meet in the middle, ie around the crown.

Other then this, I found a big tank battle going on today so I got my AP tank and took part for what 2 minutes before my tank exploded by none rendering missiles and shells.

Lock-on weapons and the rendering problems in this game is ****e, really ****e.

Never had this problem in beta.

On a good note, I have willpower of a god not to spend the 650+ certs that I have saved up. I'm aiming for 1000 certs to buy my final level of flares, but I got a nagging doubt that reducing flare reload by 5 seconds from 30 to 25 isn't really worth it for 1000, but 5 seconds can still mean life or death but 1000 certs could be well spent elsewhere.

I think ill stick to Heavy Assault on TR as it suits my style... so ill hold off on the annihilator and maybe buy some cash for the Shotgun...

Please get this idea out of your head now, don't stick to one class, change class when it's needed.

You don't have to agree with him - the devs themselves have stated long ago that Indar was just the beta test map that they threw all kinds of random ideas into and thus isn't very good and they want to get around to redesigning it significantly, it's just about when they have the time.

Did they really say that? Really wow, thought Indar was from PS1.

Well the only two things I know of that devs have talked about so far for quick redesigns for indar is removing most of the bases around the warpgates, especially those behind the the warpgate and widening the canyon area in the south-east. I doubt they will ever start it over from scratch.

Esamir and Amerish were conts in PS1, similar in theme but it's not like you can say hey this is that place from PS1 when looking at a base/hill or anything.

Indar is entirely new, although there were obviously continents with that kind of rocky desert theme.

If you look at Indar you see it has a lot more hexes than Esamir for example, Indar is lots of hills and canyons with lots of little bases to take in awkward places. Esamir has some hills/mountains but is much more open ice and frozen river stuff with far fewer outposts to take. They were obviously trying different things with each continent, learning each time so it will be interesting to see what Hossin (swamps) and Searhus (volcanic) are like when they're released.

They are looking at continent locking and tweaking the resource system so looking again at certain bases (the Crown) to make Indar work better as a map is probably on their agenda too. Or perhaps the resource tweaks will make it so idiots who sit at the Crown cut off from their territory for hours won't be able to defend it. At the moment it is more improving performance, adding some weapons each patch but also 'quality of life' stuff like the VR training area coming in the next patch.

I wouldn't bother because i have a feeling there will be a change to lock on missiles in the near future. Too many people aren't happy with how OP they currently are.

Don't land if you don't have to :p yeah it sucks when it happens though!

Funny you said that, I switched to my Prowler after my Mossy flipped and exploded when I landed on the airpads at Venu Archives. My landing gear went "though" the landing pad and got stuck, causing my Mossy to flip and explode.

Was a total rage moment then.
 
I really wish there was a training area (cont/map/server), where you could shoot your squad mates (in training mode) without fear of being locked out.

They're working on a VR training/test area. Give them time - the game's only been out for two-three months!

It's badly needed though. I didn't realise how bad the new player experience was until I rolled a vanu toon last night. It dumped me straight into a platoon in the middle of a battle.

And then after about 30 seconds another vanu shot me on purpose (which serves me right for rolling a vanu in the first place I suppose).

Not a great first minute for someone just starting the game though :p

· Corrected an issue while using HR-NV on an SMG on low settings that would make it difficult to see other players within 20m
· Dying and reviving with the VS Eridan SX5 HS/NV Scope equipped will no longer cause the scope to become misaligned.
· Icon for the VS Eridani SX5 should no longer be misaligned
· If an engineer turret is placed on or near a vehicle pad, they will be deconstructed when a vehicle spawns.

UI Updates

· Players with outfit tags should be able to see kill messages in chat
· Made it so players can see hotspots on continents they are not on.
· While using the Enemy/Ally HUD color scheme, the influence pie chart will only display 2 wedges (ally vs enemy) instead of three (two of them being red anyway)
· Squad leaders should now be properly added to the Command Chat voice channel
· Squad leaders that belong to a platoon should now be able to promote a member of their squad to the role of squad leader.

From higby this chart showing MBT K : D here.
I think it's one example of how one factions tank was better than the others by a large margin despite all the whining from vanu players that it was not.

Although the correlation of them killing more doesn't mean they were better (the players could be better) which is probably unlikely since you have a large spread of people all over the world on all sides.
