I would assume it only applies to those who have had a paid subscription to the game at some point in time, so no.
 
Got my key finally! Had to print a poster of Planetside 2 and tape it to the rear window of my car and post on twitter! Think of a funny way to write betakeybill on something, take a photo and tweet to @planetside2 and you will get a key.
 
was a PS subscriber what feels like an eternity ago, but i imagine itll go the way of funcoms tsw beta keys and just not happen rofl

its totally ********, uv got ps1 players for years begging for keys and last night i saw someone get a key for posting a pic of a cat.

They'll include a key with your invite to beta.

Oh my god, in that stream it said that I can login using my Android app and actually voice chat to my squad mates who are on the battlefield using my phone, this game is seriously next level.

I have printed a poster and put it in the rear window of my car, people need to know about this game!
 
Is anyone still paying for planetside? Just logged in and its taking £7.49 every month!!

I want to know if i will need/be sent a beta key as i played Planetside for years. I signed up through my station account for a beta key months ago but now i am starting to get a little worried that Sony are giving people beta keys through facebook/at E3/and in gaming magazines but i still don't have one and i should be first priority as a 'veteran' planetside player. I know beta has not started yet but you think they would take care of the players that played the original game before the people on Facefart.

Edit: just put my login details into the beta sign up site and got this

'You have already signed-up for the PlanetSide 2 Beta program. If your email address has changed since you signed up, please update it in Account Management so that we can send you the latest updates on the Beta program, including how to jump in if you are selected.

Hope to see you in game, soldier!'

Looks like i am on the system but i am just so excited that i am worried they will overlook me, lol.

I feel the same kingy, but they have stated quite a few times that players of the first Planetside will have as much priority as any other beta keys - though possible, i'd be surprised if they ****ed us over.
