That's a shame, I'd really been looking forward to a Planetside sequel, guess I'll just have to get my fill of the beta before I have to give any personal information to those shysters.
Who are they, I've never heard of them. Also why would you be giving them any information?
German media conglomerate, not even a gaming company, dreadful reputation in Germany, makes EAs, Ubisofts e.t.c. look like saints.
Their TOS includes clauses like their right to delete your account if it goes inactive for 90 days and the requirement that you must install third party software so they can snoop around your PC before they'll answer any support ticket.
Most of their games are heavily Pay2Win, letting you buy things like damage modifiers and if they are given free reign in this cash shop it'll be the same in Planetside.
They has a terrible record with security hence me not giving them any personal details and try don't offer an authenticator, something SOE do.
They only run 1 SOE game right now, DCUO and you'll find scores of complaints about things like missing payments, missing characters and items.
I'll have nothing to do with them do sadly I won't be playing PS2.
Pro7 have been very open so far in terms of the reps assigned to PS2, I'm still a little wary but they appear to be under no illusions, they have big boots to fill.
A lot of the concerns have been addressed (whether they'll stick to it is another thing) such as cross server access, they have said they won't delete Characters, (SOE still own all the character stuff apparently) and the cash shop will have the same items and similar pricing as the US, for the moment.
I get where Utnac is coming from, they've had bad press, they aren't well know for putting out much quality content and we are all very protective of Plantetside,all I know is I will be giving them a chance but I will make my concerns known to SOE if they try any funny stuff.

Thing is, most of these concerns were raised immediately after the original announcement of the deal and most are still unanswered 6 months later.
And still, the need to have any software on my PC that wants to snoop through my personal files is a deal breaker for me.

You won't mind me having a quick nose through your home PC then? Unlike 99.9% of gamers in not one to be taken for a ride, I'm not happy to get shafted as long as I get to play the latest overhyped game.
No silly boycotts or crusades, I just don't buy things that are not a good deal for me. Sadly I'm pretty much alone in this and that does leave me feeling a little left out at times, but I have principles and I'll stick to them.
