I'm in the beta. Thanks Gzero.
Played a bit its quite fun. Managed to get a few kills even when I didnt have a clue. Its big and confusing. Seems very vehicle oriented.
Lone wolf guide - sure there are better ways to do it, but this is how i find my fun.
- spawn at TR, select engineer, open map. Hows that looking? Note hotspots. If there are any enemy near your warp gate hop into a tank (prowler, the other ones useless) and head on over.
- check for galaxy. If ones around, change to light or heavy assault and get in. Get ready to ride into action, you can jump out of a galaxy at any point and land safely.
- no galaxy? Spawn Mossie and head for the fighting. As i suck at this maybe shoot something down before dying above where i want to spawn. Use engineer to repair if possible but inevitably die.
- local spawns now available. If fighting sucks (quiet) use instant action to try somewhere new.
Couple of points. Watch out for small bases with a lot of red vehicles and no blue. Basically youve got your spawn camped by an armor zerg and youre not getting out of the spawn building before the countdown ends, ots basically suicide. Join the fighting at larger facilities with multiple towers, whether attacking or defending its always a laugh. Hop into a tank and take it for a spin, on your map youll see when zoomed in where your columns are. Join an outfit even, i dont bother ingame but some can be worthwhile as well as giving you an extra spawn point if someone has dropped a beacon. Learn certs and purchases, some make a difference - hacking on the sniper or deploying as a sunderer, scopes for guns and armor improvements etc. The game is well balanced surprisingly although if youre inbetween a zerg and its target it may not feel that way.
