Spent 100 credit things on a new sniper rifle - should have trialled it first, it is bolt action and I prefer semi-auto.

Awesome weapon for the infiltrator is the Automatic Scout Rifle. I trialed it and had so much fun with it I paid to unlock it. It only has 20 rounds in the mag so you have to aim well, but it means you don't have to be a sniper and can get in on some close range action. :p

Had some great fun in the Magrider for an hour or so just now. Got upto 18 kills 0 Deaths by being more of a support role, holding back, bombarding, refilling the ammo, rinse & repeat.

Unfortunatley some little git with a tank mine managed to get me. Was not too happy about it at the time.

Tank mines ftw

They're one of my favourite things in the game, whether it be dropping 2 on a sunderer for that quick satisfying boom of shutting down a platoons assault on a base or having my outfit mine the **** out of a road the enemy zerg will be coming down in 5-10 minutes time and watching the fireworks.

Very satisfying :D

Do tank mines detonate when a friendly tank move over them?

Nope but they do detonate if anything like a grenade, rocket or explosion goes of right next to them. Your team/enemy can shoot them out aswell, although they are quite hard to see so that doesn't really happen.

Anybody else getting a bit annoyed with the friendly fire in this game? The amount of times I have been capping a point with 20+ other players and a friendly will drop a grenade and kill 4-5 of us :/

Very much so. I was on a 10+ kill streak in a max yesterday and got run over by a friendly in a tank  He killed like 6 of us.

hi everyone,

Think i came across my first hacker of sorts yesterday, i'm not sure as a dont play sniper so not sure what thier weapons can do, so lets see what you think,

It was on woodman server, some TR sniper seemed able to fire 6-7 shots at the same time, i dont mean 6-7 one after another, think a tight shotgun spray, i was half behind a tree as i saw all of the trails for the shots just coming towards me as i jumped behind the tree, some of them did hit even with the HA over shield on he nearly got me the first time, he then did it again, seemed a bit op if that was a real weapon?

Thoughts?

It's extremely annoying, especially when you get TK'ed by a grenade, respawn then run over by some clown in a lightning straight by the Sunderer.

So true, happens a lot.

I hate it when your flying and get taken out by friendly lib's or AA turrets no idea if on purpose or they are thick as ****.

First? :( I see at least one a session, usually a bit more than that.
Though a lot of the time it's hard to tell if it's the server struggling, obvious stuff like teleporting, flying around in tanks/sundurers etc, automatic fire from max render range and every hit hitting, invicibility (saw a liberator which just hovered over a base and opened up while 4 AA maxes and vehicles/turrets opened up on him for ages and not a scratch.

I don't ever expect them to get rid of hackers, especially with a f2p model, no proper way of catching them other than reliance on the playerbase, but it doesn't stop me playing, it's just annoying to know it's, in my experience so prevalant.

Sure it was a sniper? Could have actually been a shotgun. If you are happy its a hacker might be worth reporting it in game.

I really wish they would do something about that HUD, it steals an entire 10fps. If I disable it using CTRL+F10 I get a 10fps boost and the game feels so much smoother :( whoever designed it is an idiot.

I definitely prefer bolt-action. The semi-autos require two headshots to kill (or 3 to the body), and yet still fire painfully slow. People just kept running around a corner every time I hit them with a semi auto, at least with the bolt action I can comfortably one-hit-kill people :D And while I have to unscope, it's quick enough to give an advantage over semi-auto imo.

Other people have reported a 3-5 fps gain when disabling it, which seems reasonable to me. Drawing a HUD hasn't been "free" in any game I've worked on, especially if it's being alpha-blended like the one in PS2. The gain from disabling it will be bigger on machines which suffer from fillrate issues (a huge issue on consoles, and will be worse the higher the resolution on PC due to more pixels needing to be "pushed").

Just downloading the 2.6GB patch now.

Has the gameplay/fps improved? I know there was the issue of not being able to see enemy infantry clearly in the far distance. Has this been fixed ?

I agree, but I also find people get themselves TK'd.. You're driving along in a lightning and some prat bunny hops their way into your path for no good reason. Or like last night, a bunch of us are firing rocket launchers from cover at a Prowler and someone runs across right in front of me just as I'm firing, killing himself and wounding me!

Not to say I'm faultless, I once flew my scythe directly into a hovering lib.. Oops.
