Sucks to be me. 
I seem to have an unbelievable cpu bottleneck ( i know my cpu is old but it's not that slow!!)
I played at 1024x768 and 1980x1080 and get exactly the same framerate!!
Also DOF,SSAO all make no difference to the framerate at all which hints to the fact that my GPU is breezing through the game but my CPU is failing very hard.
Interestingly the only real thing that makes a difference to the framerate is the unit detail. If i put it on medium its much better. I wonder if that means the cpu is handling the unit geometry??!

Hey I was tryign to put it off for a couple of weeks but I don't think I can. I have played all TW's since the first shogun and I liked the demo to this one. My system ran the demo real well (enough for me not to worried about eye candy on newer games) but will my system manage the full game well enough and 1920x1080.

They don't directly sell Limited Edition atm, the cheapest one from a merchant works out at just above £27, standard edition is sold by Amazon though, it is £25.76 and £25.39 from a merchant.

yeah i know about the steam registering, i asked about the cheapest place to buy.
Edit: nm just got ltd edition for £19 delivered tommorow. It was listed as used on a big site and there was only 1

. Am only on a Q9450 with a GTX280 so expecting far lower performance...Really wanted to play chess too

It is a shame, but there is defintaley something strange going on.
Resolution, DOF,shadows, SSAO make as near to no difference to the framerate.
Changing unit detail from ultra to medium nets me between 50 - 100 % performance gain though.
It is almost like the game is using the CPU for the unit geometry and not the graphics card.

Demo runs for me ok on medium with an E6600 and an ATI 5770.

Ok, I got the demo downloaded and.....I needed a break, so I just bought it on the way to work. Sadly, I am here until 8, but I can wait 
Because it registers on Steam for one user only?
Its actually coming from amazon themselves not a seller through them, I made sure to check that, must be one that was dropped/box damage

I don't get that, surely your cpu is more potent than my Phenom II at 3.5GHz? Yet I have no issues.

It is all very strange. I've never seen a game run the same at 1024x768 as 1980x1020!!
Just pointing out that the full game should run better than the demo as the demo wasn't optimised well for using several cores, which was fixed for the full game. I can pretty much confirm that this is the case, as zooming in to battles on the demo gave noticable stutter, in the full game however it's completely smooth.

Granted it could be a return but that would be bloody quick,given delivery times there and back.
ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Expanded quite far to almost Kyoto and then I got RD and the WHOLE of Japan is against me. My foothold next to Kyoto is taking 1-3 attacks per turn from almost full stacks. My army won't be able to survive much longer. Got lucky as their armies had not many bowman so I was picking a fair few off before they scaled the walls. But now there is armies attacking with 7-8 bowmen . Looks like I will lose everything. Might just try for Kyoto in a few turns when my other armies can get to front line, but they are too busy fending off navy invasions every turn.
Oh and this is in a level one castle which is annoying. I don't have the income anymore to build it up. Was getting close to 7000 per turn before RD as I had trade agreement with most of the factions. Now down to about 1500 per turn.

Rule nr 1 - do not expand unless you have enough resources to do so
