*** Official SONOS Thread ***

Would you say worth the upgade ? Im not a a bass freak so much but it's going to be an expensive purcchse for me. An Arc Ultra and 2X Era 300's are going to run me £1897 direct from sonus although i get 15% off for a Blue Light card.

Arc ultra, yeah it’s good upgrade, i pair with a sub gen 3, I wouldn’t say it’s night and day upgrade from the original arc though, dialogue is improved a lot for sure centre channel is better for the dialogue. (Louder/clearer)

Just ordered the Arc Ultra to replace the normal Arc. I'm reading conflicting reports of the wall mount and if it will be compatible, just going to see if it fits once it arrives. One of the main reasons to upgrade is that it's meant to be much better at speech and reduces the need to turn up/turn down which we end up having to do with the Arc.

Careful if you take it too high it can start to sound overly processed. Of course this is very subjective :)
There’s no need to use the software speech enhancement at all in my experience using the ultra, the physical speaker differences makes the centre channel so much better then the Arc anyway. I have it set to off.

Not the 300s for the proper atmos speakers? You know you should......
They are just surround fillers, the room isn't big enough for the 300s, and I don't really watch enough Atmos content at a decent volume to make the significant jump in price worthwhile. If it's late and I'm watching a film or TV series I usually just use my AirPod Max since I have a) a wife who will moan and b) a child I don't want to wake up because it will make the outcome of a) even worse for me.

At least the Era 100 SL's are down to £134 on Amazon right now.

Good change to the app today, so you can see if you're missing a system update.

Ace Ultra's have arrived

Have been using them to play game audio from the Arc

They're pretty good, nice Spatial Audio, TV audio swap works flawlessly. Only complaint is they're a bit heavy but not as heavy as AirPods

So Arc Ultra now sitting under the TV and very nice the sound is to . So has anyone used a pair of Sonos Play 1 as rear surrounds and had a noticable effect ?

They are cheap enough to buy as used pair so rather than sheeling out £400 on a pair of ERA 100'S or £800 on a pair of ERA300 'S

I used Play 1s as surround with both an original Arc and Beam gen 1. They worked great and really helped put you in the middle of the action when watching films or TV shows. I've still got One SLs as surrounds with a Beam gen 2, sadly one of my Play 1s died a few years ago so sold the other one.

FYI; Sonos Era 100 SL were around £140 each at John Lewis recently and Black Friday is coming and Sonos typically gets discounted.

Check compatibility as not all speakers are compatible as surrounds with the Arc Ultra.
Bum ,ok back the drwaing board . They dont work !

One SL'S do but not sure they will give the same perfomance as the Play 1 ?
